    Karen Knight and Mark Herman
Knight & Herman for this month
Karen Knight and Mark Herman are Students of the Month at Riverview
Elementary School.
Karen is polite, takes care of the fish at home, and helps her mother by drying
dishes. She plays fair in jump rope, doesn’t run in the halls, lie or pick fights. She
cleans her room 3 times a week and works hard in school.
Mark hands in assignments on time, respects adults, and dresses neatly. He is a
reliable member of the safety patrol, and is always on time. He takes good care of his
parakeet, picks up trash in the park, and breaks up fights. He also cleans his
bedroom, does the dishes and takes good care of his bike.

...Gloria
[continued from page 1]
The biggest advantage to
being Miss Lancaster is the
scholarship money and gifts
that come with the job.
Gloria is also paid for her
appearances.
Also, Gloria says, ‘‘Just
meeting all the people I've
met is an advantage.”
Gloria meets so many
people, she has trouble
remembering them all.
“When 1 go places,
people sometimes stare at
me,”’ Gloria says. ‘“‘I don’t
know if they know me from
the newspapers or some-
place else. It’s really funny
sometimes.”
People Gloria doesn’t
recognize walk up to her and
say, ‘‘Hi. How are you
doing? How’s school?’
