We have refrained from dunning for money during the pres ent volume of our paper, until now, and tiow we are sadly in want of it. Very few of our subscribers have paid for vol_ utile '7, which expires on the 20th of July, and a 'large amount remains on our books for advertising and job work. Onr patrons in the borough will be waited on by a collector some time du ring next week, whilst those at a diS tance (a great many of whom are in-ar rears for three and four years) will please remit us by mail. The amount to each 'is very trifling, whilst the aggregate to 'us is our all. We cannot, during these hard times, continue. The Mariettian *Mess we are paid up. i The Fourth of July. Mr. Editor : Will you please allow me, through your Journal, to Suggest that those of our citizens who are not otherwise engaged might, if the weather be agreeable, spend rum FOURTH of JUI;Y quite pleasantly in Col. Clark's beauti ful grove, near where he has emoted the wonderful wheel which, by its mystical revolutions; turns water and lager up and down alternately. Each party might furnish their own provisious, and be on the ground in time to organize a meeting at 12 Week noon. The Declaration of In depenence might be read and Mr. A. B. Grosh ,or some other person equally competent might be requeSted to deliver a short oration suitable to the day and to the present eventful period of our his tory. There might also be some volun teer speeches and music, i after which we could enjoy ourselves in regular free and easy style as might best suit our several tastes and inclinations. N. N. We think the above suggeston a very good ono ; we surely should, have some kind of demonstration on the FOURTH, and know of nothing better to recom mend, at this late day.—Editor. wir By reference to our advertising columns it will be seen that a rare chance is offered, for the small sum of one dol lar, to get a beautiful engraving and a chance for a gift of some account. An , Effective, Safe and Economical Compound For restol ing Gray flair to its nrig,inDl color without dyeing, and preventing the hair from turning gray. j For Prerentin,g• Baldness, and curing it, when there is the least particle of vitality or recuper ative energy remaining. For Remoring Scurf and Dandruf, and all cutaneous affections of the Scalp. For Beautifying the Hair, imparting to it an unequalled gloss and brillancy, making it roft and silky in its texture and causing it to curl readily. The great celebrity and the increasing de mand for this unequalled preparation, convince the proprietor that one trial is only necessary to satisfy a discerning public of its superior qualities over another preparation at present in use. It cleanses the head and scalp from dand ruff and other cutaneous diseases. Causes the hair to grow luxuriantly, and gives it a rich, soft, glossy and flexible appearance, and also where the hair is loosening and thinning - , it will 'give strength and vigor to the roots, and restore the growth to those parts which have become bald, causing it to yield a fresh covering of hair. Them are hundredi of ladies and gentlemen in New York who hive had their hair restored by - the use, of this , Invigorator, when all other preparations had failed. L. M. has in his pos session letters innumerable testifying to the above facts, from persons of the highest respec tibility. It will effectually prevent the hair from turning gray until the latest period o t life and in eases where the hair has already changed its color, the use of the Invigorator will with certainty restore to its original hue, giving it a dark, glossy appearance. As a perfume toilet and a Hair Restorative it is paiticularly rec ommended, having an agreeable fragrance ;- and the great facilities it affords in dressing the hair, which, when moist with the Invigo rator can be dressed in any required farm so as to preserve its place. wheth^T plain or in curls -hence the great demand for it by th'e ladies as a standard toilet article which none ought to be without, as the price places- it within the reach of all, being ONLY T WENVY"-FTVE per bottle, to be had at all respectable druggists and perfumers. L. Miller would call the attention of Parents and Guardians to the use of his Invigorator, in cases where the childrens' Hair inclines to be weak. ' The use of it lays the foundation fos a good head of hair, as it removes any impurities that ma) have become connected with the scalp, the removal of which is necessary both for the health of die child, and the futUre ap pearance of its Bair: CauTioN.—None genuine Without the fae simile.
