The public aro invited to attend, ar Mr. John Crull, of this Borough, who went with Lieut. A. N. SHIPLEY, U. S. A., to Ringgold Barracks, Texas, re turned on Saturday evening last. Mr. C. says he has had enough of" Camp and Soldier life" to do him for the ballance of his " pilgrimage here below "—that it is not what it is cracked-up to be. He says the secession fever rages very vio lently in Texas, New Orleans and all the Southern points he stopped at. He says, however, that Lieutenant SEIIPLEY is sound to the core, for the Union. 'Tis said, and , very trriely, too: that opposition is the life of trade. Mr. McClure, the ambrotypist, coming in our midst has brought out Dellinger. See his great reduction in prices, and being a Mariettian, M r. D. deserves, and should receive,'the patronage of his' neighbors. See his card in another column. or non. Themes E. Franklin of -Lan caster, one of the representatives from this State to the " Peace Conference " at Washington, arrived at home on Sat urday morning last, laboring under an attacker Erysipelas. We are gratified to learn, however, that he.had' so far re covered his health as to.be able to leave for Washington Tuesday morning. Sr lion. Thaddeula Stevens paid a short visit to Lancaster on Saturday last, leaving for NV ashington on Monday morning. It will be gratifying to the people to know that Mr. Stevens is in good health and spirits. Fie is as ready and able, as ever, to do battle for the Constitution, the Union, and the rights of Freemen. So says the Lancaster Un ion of Wednesday last. eir The National Rifles of Mountjoy, and the Lancaster Fencibles, it is said, are willing to join in the parade here on the twenty-second of February, if invited by the committee. We have •no doubt the Carlisle, York and Reading compan ies can be induced to participate in the demonstration, if invited in time to en able them to make the necessary prepa rations. The committee, should call a meeting and act promptly and vigorously. —Harrisburg Telegraph. lir The recent cetsus returns show that the amount of money invested in Agricultural Implements in Lancaster county alone, exceeds considerably that of the States of Delaware and New Jer sey.
