John Johnson, of Cincinnati. Patterson, of Elmira, who . was sentenced to the Auburn State Prison from Buffa lo, five years since, for a term of .ten,, years,; for stealing letters from the mail, was pardoned last week by President Buchanan. Patterson was only seven teen years of age when sentenced.
