To THE MAIITY.O.9 0 F LIVER COMPLAINT.
—Among the wonderful =dim] properties
which have rendered Hostetter's Stomach
Bitters pre-eminent among the health-restor
ing preparations of the age, its -anti-biliOus
virtues are not the least remarkable. No
words can do justice to its marvelous effect
upon the diseased liver. Perhaps the simple
words of a convalescent sufferer, who de
scribes it as "going to the right spot," tells
it as clearly as may be. It does go right to
the spot. It operates directly upon the dis
ordered organ, and whether unduly active or
in a state of paralysis, restores it to a condi
tion of health. Ihe sickness at the Stomach,
pain between the shoulders and in the right
side, yellow suffusion of the skin, costive new.,
arowsiness and languor, dimness of sight,
colic, palpitatiou of the heart, dry cough, low
fever, and other symptoms which indicate the
various phases of acute and-chronic liver coin
p'aint, are and all promptly relieved, and fi
nally removed, by the action of this famous
preparation which is at once the best of cor
rectives, the gentlest and most genial of ape
rients, an infallible regulator, and a powerful
restorative. Persons of a bilious habit, who
use the bitters as a protective medicine, Will
never sutler the pains and penalties of Liver

!EP"' Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry cures
Coughs, colds, bronchitis, asthma, croup,
whooping cough, quinsy, and the numerous as
well as dangerous diseases of the throat, chest
and lungs, prevailing in our changeable clim

nate enough to escape their baneful influence.
How important then to have at hand a cer
tain antidote to all these complaints. Expe
rience proves that this exists in Wistar's Bal
sam to an extent not found iu any other rem
edy ; however severe the suffering, the appli
cation of this soothing, healing and wonder
ful Balsam at once vanquishes the disease and
restores the sufferer to wonted health.
MR. JOHN BUNTO,
Of BALDWIN, CHEMUNG COUNTY: N. Y.--
writes
" I was urged by a neighbor to get one bot

by him that in case it did not produce good
effects he would pay for the bottle himself.
On the strength of such practical evidence of
its merits, I procured a bottle. My wife at
this time was so low with what the physicians
termed Seated Consumption, as to be unable
to raise herself from the bed, coughing con
stently, and raising more or less blood. I
cdminericed giving the Balsam as directed,
and waz so much pleased with its operation
that I obtain6.d another bottle, and continued
giving it. Before this bottte was entirely

A Y4urio LADY returning to her country
home, after a sojourn of a few months in the
city, was hardly recognized by her friends,
In place of a coarse, rustic, flushed face, she
had a soft ruby complexion of almost rumble
smoothness, and instead of twenty-three she
realty appeared but eighteen. Upon inquiry
as to the cause of so great a change, she plain
ly told them that she used the CIRCASSIAN
BALM, and considered it an invaluable acqui
sition to any Lady's toilet. By its use any
Lady or Gentleman can improve their person
al appearance an hundred fold. It is simple
in its combination, as Nature herself is simple,
yet unsurpassed in its efficacy in drawing im
purities tram, also healing, cleansing and
beautifying the skin and complexion. By its
direct action on the cuticle it draws from it all
its impurities, kindly healing the same, and
leaving the surface as Nature intened it
should be, clear, soft, smooth and beautiful.

Doctor Hower has engaged ni the

for 24 3 ears ' • and was the only' physician in
the city of Lancaster last summer 'ivho cured
every case of Cholera treated by him, V;_ithout
the loss of a shier, case, the successful treat
ment of which is owing to his long experience
and extensive knowieege of vegetable reme
dies, having always discarded the use of min
eral poisons, as a cruel and unnatural means
in restoring the sick.
We use such Balms as have no strife ;
With Nature or the Laws of Life;
With blood our hands we never stain,
Nor poison men to ease their pain.
But our Father, whom all goodness fills,
Provides the means to cure all ills;
The simple herb beneath our feet,
Well used, relic ves.our pains complete.
have now a collection of some four hun
dred plants whose virtues are well known ;
beautiful and ii,:srraleE's remedies when pro
perly used, and capable of removing every
disease to which nature is liable to be subject
ed. The strongest ovideree that the Author
of nature has caused medical viilues to reside
in . the vegetable kingdom, which has ex
eluded from all other sources, is thai these
plants grow-spontaneously everywhere, add
that they are not fit for food, but that they do
cure diseases where all other means fail ; that
they do, if prorerly administered, restore in
valids to health when the last hope is gone !
and that, too, without destroying the living
tissues or poisoning the vital fluids of life.
Dr. Hower is no stranger among you, hav
ing represented Lancaster County in the Leg

year he has treated and cured in Lancaster
City, hundreds of cases of old standing diseas
