H corner. • • ' a r A committee of Merchant Tailors from Lancaster, headed by Prof. Simon Rathvon, waited on the President one day last week, seeking some redress from what they regard as unequal taxa tion on manufactured goods. It is said the President received them very cour teously,remarking, ainongst other things that be himself had once been a tailor. A Waebington paper says that within the past four months the President has replied to no less than fifteen delega tions, to all of which he said he had once been poor and ,was a tailor.
