'Analysis of the Mass. State Assayer. [1858.]
When evaporated through clean linen it lets
no oil or offensive matter.. In every, respect
it is a runr.'spirituousliquor. The oil which
gives to this Brandy its flavor and aroma, is
wholly unlike fusit or grain oil. Its odor par
takes of both the fruit and oil of grapes. With
acids it produces ethers
.of a high fragrance.
The substitution of this Brandy for Cognac
Brandy will do away with the mamsfacture
FICTITIOUS spirits, sold under this,namepoth
at home and abroad. Respectfully, •

needed something for my hair, it- being short

their use the'systerh is kept continually under

.• I do this more readily in regard to Hoofland's
German Bitters, prepared by Dr. C. M. Jackson
because I was prejudiced against thein for a
number of years, under the iinpression that
thtY were chiefly an alcoholic mixture. lam
indebted to my friend Rob't Shoemaker, eau.,
for the removal of this prejudice by proper
tests, and for encouragement to try them, when
suffering from' great and long debility. The
Use of three bottles of these bitters, at the be
ginning of the present year, was followed by
evident relief, and restoration to a degree of
bodily and mental vigor which I had not felt
for six months before, and had aimost dispair
ed of wgaming. I therefore, thank God and
my friend for directing me to the use of them.
