CELEBRATED
STOMACH
BITTERS.
A PURE AND POWERFUL. TONIC,
Corrective a;id alternative of wonderful effica
cy to diseaiie of the Stomach, Liver and Bow
els; cures Dyspepsia, Liver Complaint, Head
ache, General Debility, Nervousness, Det
firm of Spirits, Constipation, Colic, Ink w i t rmitteu-
Feveis, Cramps and Spasms, and all complaints
of either sex, arising from bodily weakness
whether inherent in the system or produced
by special causes.
Nothing that is not wholesome, genial, and
restorative in its nature enters into the compo
sition of Hostetter's Stomach. Bitters. This
popular preparation contains no mineral` of
any kind, no deadly botanical element ; no fi
ery excitant, but it is a combination of the ex
tracts of rare balsamic herbs and plants with
tho purest and mildest of all diffusive stimu
lants.
It is well, to be forearmed against diseaso;
and so far as the human system can be protec
ted, by human means against maladies en
gendered by an unwholesome atmosphere, im
pure water and other external causes,
VOSTETTER'S BITTERS
may be relied on as a safeguard.
In districts infested with Fever and Ague, it
has been found infallible as a preventative and
irresistible as a remedy, and thousands who
resort to it under apprehension of an atteek,
esdape the scourge; and thousands who ne
glect ro avail themselves of its protective qua/-
sties in advance, are cured by a very 'Niel*
room of this marvelous medicine. . Fever and
Ague patients, after being plied wi th quinine
for months in, vain, until fairly satu rated with
that dangelous alkaloid, are not unfrequently
-estored to health within a few daysbythe use
of Hostetter's Bitters.
The weak stomach is rapidly invigorated
and the appetite restored by ibis agreeable to
nic, and hence it works wonders in cases of
Dyspepsia and in less confirmed forms of indi
gestion. Acting as a gentle and painless appe
/lent, as well as upon the liver, it also invari
ably relieves the Constijiation superinduced by
Irregular action of the digestive and secretive
organs. Penang of feeble habit, liable to ner
vous attacks, lowness of spirits and fits of lair
gour, find prompt and permanent relief from
the Bitters. The testimony on this point is
/nonconclusive, and from both sexes.
The agony of Bilious Colic is immediately
assuaged by a single dose of the stimulant, and
by occasionally resorting to it, the return of the'
complaint may be prevented.
Last, but not least, it is The Only Safe Stim
ulant, being manufactured from sound and
innocuous` materials, and entirely free frem the
acid elements present more or less in all the:
ordinary tonics and stomachics of the day.
No family medicine has been so universally,
and, it may be truly added, deservedly popular
with the intelligent portion of the community,
as HOSTETTER'S BITTERS.

to these Bonds are received in United States
notes or notes of National Banks. They are
TO BE REDEEMED IN COIN, at the plea

than ten months nor more than forty years
from their date, and until their redemption
FIVE PER CENT. INTEREST WILL BE
PAID IN COIN, on Bonds of not over one
hundred dollars annually and on all other
Bonds semi-annually. -The interest is pay.
able on the first days of March and Septem
ber in each year.
Subscribers will receive either Registered
or Coupon Bonds, as they may prefer, Reg
istered Bonds are recorded on the books of
the U. S. Treasurer, and can be transferred
only on thy owner's order. Coupon goods,
are payable to bearer, and are more cpnve:-
nient for commercial uses.
7 i .
Subscribers to this loin' will have the op
tion of having their Bonds draw interest from
March ist, by paying the accruedlinteresf in
coin,-(or in United States notes, or the notes
of National Banks, adding fifty per cent.. foo
premium) or receive them drawing, interest
from the date, of subscription' and depdsit.
As these Bends .are
Exempt from Municipal or ,State Taxation,
their value is increased from one to three per
cent. per annum, according to the rate of tax
levies in various parts df the country.
At the present rate of premium on gold
they pay
Over Eight Per Cent Interest
in turrency,.and are Of equal convenience 'is
a permanent or temporary investment.
It is believed, that no securities offer eo
great inducements to lenders us the various
descriptions of U. S. Bonds. In all other
forms of indebtedness, the faith or ability ,of
private parties or mock companies or seperate
communities only is pledged for payment,.
while for the debts of the United States the
whole property of the country holden to
teecure the paybsent of both principal and in
erest in coin.
These bonds may be subscribed for in sums,
from $450 up to any magnitude, on the same
terms, and are thus made equally available
to the smallest lender and the largest capital=
ist. They can be converted into money at
any moment, and the holder will have the
benefit of the interest.
It may be useful to state in this connection
that the total Funded Debt of the United
States on which interest is payable in gold,
on the 3d day of March, 1864, was $768,965,-
000. The interest on this debt for the canting
fiscal year will be $45,937,126, while the cus
toms revehue in gold for the Current fiscal
year, ending June 30th,
,1564, has been so far
at the rate of over $100,000,000 per annum.
It will be seen that even the present gold
revenues of the Government are 'largely in
excess of the wants of the Treasury for the
payment of the gold interest, while the recent,
increase of the tariff will doubtless raise thi
annual receipts from customs on the; same
amount of importations, to $150,000;000 per
annum.
Instructions to. the National Banks acting

saver I A Time Saver! The saving of gar
ments' ikilf alone pay'a large percentage on
its cost. We think the machine much more
than pays for itself every year in the saving of
garments! Thete . are several , kinds, nearly
alike in general construction, but we consider
it important that the Wringer be fitted with
Cogs, otherwise a mass of garments may wog
the rollers, and the rollers upon the . crank
shaft slip.and-tear the clothes, or the rubber
break loose from the shaft. Our own is one of
the first make, "and it is as good as new after
nearly four years constant use."
