ELECTRIC OIL.
Wonderful Cures on Man a n d Beast
A VALUABLE MEDICINE!
icPROPOSE to cure, almost instantaneously,
individuals afflicted With Deafness, Head
ac e, Neuralgia, Chill Fever, Ague, Rheuma
tism, and all Sores and Pains,
I propose to check and effectually dissipate
more ache and pain, and to accomplish nearer
and more perfect equilibrium of all the circula
ting fluids in the human system, than can be
effected by any other or all other methods of
medical aid in the same space of time, the
masses themselves being judges.
I do not propose to cure every disease, but
all such as are curable by any combination of
medical appliances. My Electric Oil operates
on chemical and electric principles, and is,
therefore, applicable to the cure or natural
restoration of any organic derangement, aris
ing from an improper circulation of Nervous
vital uid.
I want the. masses to join in this matter—
the well as the sick ? because if these things
are so, all are alike interested.
N. B. Please inform me of any case of fail
ure to cure, in from half hour to three weeks,
as I wish to cure or charge nothing.
The Columbus Sux remarks: On Saturday,
an old gentleman named Wm. C. Osborne,
well known in our city, who, from rheumatic
affections, has not been able to walk or use
his hands sufficient to feed himself, for mor
then ten years, was Drought to Prdf. De Grath
on the street, where in the presence of a large
assemblage of people, he applied De Grath's
Electric Oil to one arm and shoulder. lie was
immediately enabled to raise his hand to his
head and scratch it, a thing he said he hae
not done before in twelve years.
The New Hampshire Patriot says: During
the .present week, no less than six of our
friends, who have been induced to try Prof.
De Grath's Electric Oil for Rheumatism and
Deafness, in consequence of having seen this
prearation advertised in our colenins, have
sidled upon us to state the result of experi
ments. These persons assure us that their
Rueumatic pains have been entirely cured by
a few applications of De Grath's Electric Oil,
and they recommend its use to all who are
ABlicted with any of the diseases which it is
designed to cure.
It seems that Rheumatism, Deafness,
Neu
ralhia, Swollen and Stiff Joints, and other
tkimplaints to which we are all subject, have
lost their terrors. Prof. De Grath's Electric
Oil is warranted to relieve any case in a short
space of time, and with a trifling expense. It
always cures. Scratches, Sprains, Galls and
Splints on horses.

copy of this book.
A word of solemn conscientious advice to
those who will reflect.
A class of maladies prevail to a fearful ex
tent in the community, dooming at least 100,-
000 youth of both sexes annually, to an early
grave. Those diseases are very imperfectly
understood. Their external manifestation, or
symptoms are Nervous Debility Relaxation
and Exhaustion ; Marasmus or wasting and
consumption of the tissues of the whole body ;
shortness of breathing or hurried breathing on
ascending a hill or flight of stairs ; great pal
pitation of the Heart; Asthma, Bronchitis and
sore Throat ; shaking of the Hands and Limbs ;
aversion to society and to business or study;
dimness of eyesight, loss of Memory, dizziness
of the Head, Neuralgia, Pain in various parts
of the body ; Pains in the back or limbs, Lum
bago, Dyspepsia or Indigestion, irregularity of
the bowels, deranged secretions of the Kid
neys and other glands of the body, as Leuchor-
Ace! of Fleur Albus, &c. Likewise Epilepsy,
Hysteria and Nervous Spasms.
. Now in ninety-nine cases out of every one
hundred, all the above named disorders, and a
host of others not named, as Consumption of
the Lungs and that most insidious and wily
form of Consumption of the Spinal Nerves,
known as Tabes Dorsales, and Tabes mesen
teries, have their seat and origin in diseases
of the Pelvic Viscera. Hence the want of
success on the part of old school practices in
treating symptoms only.
Dr. Andrew Stone, Physician to the Troy
Lung and Hygienic Institution, is now en
gaged in treating this class of modern male
dtes with the most astonished success. The
treatment adopted by the institution is new;
it is based upon scientific principles, with new
discovered remedies, without minerals or poi
sons. The facilities of cure are such that , pa
tients can be cured at their homes, in any part
of the country, from accurate descriptions of
their case, by letter; and have the medicines
sent by mail or express. Printed interrogato
ries will be forwarded on application.
Consumption, Catarrh and diseases of
the throat cured as well at the •Hoine of the
Patients as at the Institution, by sending the
Cold Medicated Inhaling alsamic Vapors,
with inhaler and ample directions for their
use, and direct correspondence.

advice, must enclose return stamps, to meet

m. to 9 p. in., each day.

The Secretary of the Treasury has not yet
given notice of any intention to withdraw this
popular Loan from Sale at Par, and until ten
days notice is given, the undersigned, as
"General Subscription Agent," will continue
to supply the public;
Tice whole amount of the Loan authorized
is Five Hundred Millions of Dollars. Nearly
Four Hundred Millions have been already sub
scribed for and paid into the Treasury, mostly
within the last seven months. The large de
mand from abroad, and th a rapidly increasing
home demand for use as the basis for circula
tion by National Banking Associations now
organizing in all parts of Inc. country, will, iu
a very short period, alniorb the balance.—
Sales have lately ranged from ten to filteen
millions weekly, frequently exceeding three
millions daily, and as it is well known that
the Secretary of the Tree Bury has ample and
unfailing resources in the: Duties on Imports
and Internal Revenues, rind in the issue of
the Interest bearing Legal Tender Treasury
Notes, it is almost a cert linty that he will not
find it necessary, for a long time to come, to
seek a market for any other long or permanent
Loans, the Interest and Principal of which are
PAYABLE IN GOLD
Prudence and self-interest must force the
minds of those contemplating the formation of
National _Banking Associations, as well as the
minds of all who have idle money on their
bands, to the prompt conclusion that they
should lose no time in subscribing to this most
popular Loan. It will soon be beyond their
reach, and advance to a handsome premium,
as was the result with the "Seven Thirty"
Loan, when it was all sold and could no long
er be subscribed for at par.
, It is it Six Per Cent. Loan, the Interest and
Prencip al payable in Coin, thus yielding over
Nine per Cent. per annum at the present rate
of premium on coin.
The Government requires all duties on im
ports to be paid in Coin ; these duties have for
a long time past amounted to over a Quarter
of a l\ Linton of Dollars daily, a sum nearly
three titoes greater than that required in the
payment of the interest on all the 5.20 3 s and
other permanent Loans. So that it is hoped
that the .surplus Coin in the Treasury, at no
distant day, will enable the United States to
resume specie payments upon all liabilities.
The Loan is called 5-20 from the fact that
whilst the Bonds may run for 20 years, yet
the Government has a right to pay them off in
Gold at par, at any time after .5 years.
The Interest is paid kW-yearly, viz : on the
first days of November and May.
Subscribers can lave Coupon Bonds, Which
are payable to bearer, and are $5O, $lOO,
$5OO, and 101000 ; or Registered Bonds of same
denominations, and in addi , ion, $5,000, and
$lO,OOO. For Banking purposes and for in
vestments of Trust-monies the Registered
Bonds are preferable.
These 5-20's cannot be taxed by States, ci•
ties, towns or counties, and the Government
tax on them is only one-and-a-half per cent.,
on the amount of income, when the income
of the holder exceeds Six Hundred dollars per
annum ; all other investments, such as income
from Mortgages, Railroad Stock and Bonds,
etc., must pay from three to five per cent tax
on the income.
Banks and Bankers throughout the Country
will continue to dispose of the Bonds; and all
orders by mail, or otherwise promptly attend
ed to.
The inconvenience of a few days' delay in
the delivery of the Bonds is unavoidable, the
demand being so great; but as interest com
mences from the day of subscription, no loss is
occasioned, and every effort is being made to
diminish the delay. AY COOKE,
SUBSCRIPTION AGENT,
114 South Third Street, Philadelphia.
A Fortune for All!
EITHER MEN OR WOMEN ! !
NO HUMBUG, but an ENTIRELY NEW
thing. Only three months in this country !
No clap-trao operation to gull the public; - but
a genuine money-making thing! Read the
Circular of instruction once only, and you will
understand, it perfectly. A Lady has just
written to me that she is making as high as
TWENTY DOLLARS SOME DAYS! giving in
structions in this art. Thousands of Soldiers
are making money rapidly at it., No person
has to be urged to patronize it. It is a thing
that takes better than anything ever before
offered. You can make money with it home
or abroad—on steamboats or railroad cars, and
in the country or city. You will be pleased
in pursuing it, not only because it will Yield
a handsome income, but also in consequence
of the general admiration which it elicits. It
is pretty much all profit. A mere trifle is
necessary to start with.
There is scarcely one person out of thou
sands who ever pays any attention to adver
tisements of this kind, thinking they are hum
bugs. Consequently those who do send for
instructions will have a broad fie .tit makq
money in. There Is a class of persons in this
world who think because they have been
humbugged out of a dollar or so, that every
thing that is advertised is a humbug. Conse
quently they try no more. The person who
succeeds is the one that keeps on trying until
he hits something that pays him.
This art.cost me one thousand dollars, and
I expect to make money out,of it—and all who
purchase the art from me will. do the same.—
One Dollar sent to me will insure the pronipi
return . of a cardiof instructions in the art.--
.
The money will be recurred to those who are not
satisfied-

Having been taught that medicines, in order
to be valuable, must originate with some par
ticular faculty or school, we considered pa
tent medicines, (so called) a humbug, until
after losing our beloved child with Croup, we
were forced by the suffering of another, from
the same disease, and the advice of friends to
try Lot's Cough Balsam,. Little Eddie bad
gone, and, though we loved him, we could'nt
call him from his quiet rest, to share the sor
rows of this unfriendly world. But Willie is
there no remedy for thee? We found it in
Coe's Cough Balsam. It relieved him in 20
minute/110 our great joy and the surprise of
others. We cannot be hired to dispense with_
this priceless blessing and we are glad to learn
that Mr. Coe has made arrangements with
parties whereby it may become more exten
sively known. In view of this let me say to
every part ut, when your child is suffering with
Croup, give this Balsam, give it freely, If we
did not believe it to be the best remedy for
you, we certainly would not say it.
Yours, truly. EDWARD GWINELL.

says of
Qbfie Unibtrsal elatto Effringtr
"A child can readily* wring out a tubfull of
clothes in a few minutes. It is really a clothes
saver! A Time Saver! The saving of gar
ments will alone pay a large per centage on
its cost. We think the machine much more
than pays for 'ltself every year in the saving of
garments! There are several kinds, nearly
alike in general construction, but we consider
it important that the Wringer be fitted with
Cogs, otherwise a mass of garments may ciog
the rollers, and the rollers upon the crank
shaft slip and tear the clothes, or the jobber
break loose from the shaft. Our own is one of
the first make, and it is as good as new after
nearly four years constant use."
Every Wringer with Cog Wheels is war
ranted in every particular.
No Wringer can be durable without Cog-wheels.
A good Canvasser wanted in every town.
Ira*Con receipt of the price from places where
no one is selling, we will send the Wringer
free of expense.
