We, the undersigned, Auditors of Lancas
ter county, do certify that , we have carefully
.examened the above account of Michael H.
Shirk, Esq., late Treasurer of said county,
and compared his vouchers with the same and
find a balance in his hands of Forty Thousand
Seven Hundred and-Ninety-five Dollars and
Ninety-six cents, ($40095 96) which he has
paid over to his successor, John Denlinger,
Esq., the presput Treasurer, and for which he
has shown us his receipt.
We have examined the acepuriS of William
Gorrecht, Esq., Treasurer of the Poor and
House of Employment of Lantaster county,
and find -a balance in his hands of Four Hund
red_and Thirty-nine Dollars and Twenty three
cents ($439 23) on the first of January, 1862.
We have also examined the account of Hugh
S. Gera. Esq„ Treasurer, , of the Board of
risoti InspeCtors, and found it correct, show
ing a balance due.lnin by' the said Board on
the Ist day of January, 1862, of One Thous
and and Fifty-eight. Dollars and Ninety-two
cents ($1,058 92). -
The liabilities of the County for individual
loans it the present time at 5 percent per
annum, amount to One ,Hundred and Thirteen
Thousand. Four Hundred and Sixty-six Dol
lars and Seventy-five cents (113,466 75). De
ducting the amount in the hands of the Treas
urer, (40,795 66,) would show an indebted
ness of Se - venty.two Thousand,' Six Hundred
and Seventy Dollars and Eighty cents(72,67o
- The outstanding taxes amount to Nine
Thousand, Sevea Hundred and Thirteen Dol
lars and Fifty-one cents ($9,713 dl).
In witness whereof we have hereunto set
our hnnds at the County Cointnissioners'Orice,
