to satisfy a discerning public of its superior

hair to grow luxuriantly, and .gives it a 'rich,
soft, glossy and flexible appearance, and also
where the hair is loosening atyd thinning, it will
give strength and vigor to the roots, and restore
the growth to those parts which have become
bald, causing it to yield a fresh covering of hair.
There are hundreds of ladies and gentlemen
in NeW Yorit who have had their hair. restored
by the use of this invigorator, when all other
preparations had failed. L. M. has in his pos
session letters innumerable testifying to the
above facts, from persons of the highest respec 7

from turning gray until the latest periocro t life ;
and in cases where the hair has already changed
its color, the use of the Invigorator will with
certainly restore to its original hile, giving it a

VALUABLE PROPERTY czytrr AWAY
The idea of representing the Lord's Prayer
by an engraving, and of ornamenting and ar
ranging it in such a manner as to producd at
once a model of neatness and taste, was con
ceived and carried out by ORMSBY, the cele

commences with exquisitiveiy executed words
of " Our Father," and then follow in success
ion the. other parts of the prayer, every phrase
of which is engraved! in the most elegant and
tasteful manner. Near the bottom of the pic
ture, is a •superbly executed head of Our Sa
viour, and encircling the upper part of the en
graving are ten angels, each bearing one of
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
The engraving has received the most unqual
ified praise from the religious community, as
there is nothing of a see:taring character about
it, hiving been recommended by clergyman of
all denominations. As an ornament, it is one
of the most splendid ever published in this
country, and is destined to take the place of a
pOorer class of engravings. The size of the
plate is 20 x 28 inches, and is unquestionably
the cheapest engraving ever offered in this
country.
Who tnat loves' artwho delights to study

impressions which such a work is calculated
to impart, would fail to secure a copy when
the price is ONLY ONE. DOLLAR, with the

RECOMMENDATIONS.
We invite attention to some of the recom
mendations: From Rev. C. W. Thompson,
Rector. of St. John's Protestant Episcopal
Church, York, Pa.
Messrs. Austin & Wehrly :—The engraving
of the " Lord's Prayer," which is now offered
for sale by, Messrs.. Austin & Wehrly, of this
llorougn, is " got up'? with much taste and
beauty, and ought to recomend itself to public
attention—anything that will keep that noble
composition before the mind and memory is
likely to do good. The work seems to me
only to require examination in order to be ad
mired, and I cannot but hope that the gentle
men who have in hand its distribution at so
moderate a rate, will be abundantly success
ful m their undertaking. _ _

RESTORATIVE PILLS OF IRON.
An Aperient and Stomachic preparation of
Cron purified of Oxygen and Carbon by
fombustion in Hydrogen. Sanctioned by the
highest Medical Authorities, both in Europe
and the United States, and prescribed in thei.
practice.
The experience of thousands daily proves
that no preparation of Iron call be compared
with it. Impurities of the blood, depression
of vital energy, pale and otherwise sickly
complexions, indicate its necessity in almost
every conceivable case.
Innoxious in all maladies in which it has
been tried, it has proved absolutely curative in
each of the following complaints, viz :
In Debility, Nervous Affections, Emaciation,
Dyspepsia, Constipation, Diarrhdea, Dysente
ry, Incipient Consumption, Scrofulous Tabur
culosis, Salt Rheum, litismenstruation, Chlo
rosis,Whites,Liver Complaints, Chronic Head.
aches, Rheumatism., Intermittent Fevers, .Pim-
pies on the face, 4-c.
In cases of General Debility, whether the re
sult of acute disease, or of the continued dim
inution of nervous and muscular energy from
chronic complaints, one trial of this restorative
has proved successful to an extent which no
description nor written attestation wbuld rend
er credible. Invalids so long bed-ridden as to
have becOthe forgotten in their own neighbor
hoods, have suddenly re-appeared in the busy
world as if just returned from protracted travel
in a distant land. Some very signal instances
of this kind are attested of female Sufferers,
emaciated victims of apparent marasmus, sane
guineous exhaustion, crittical changes, and
that complication of nervous and dyspepti
aversion to air and exercise for which the phy
sician- has no name.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and for
reasons familiar to medical men, the operation
of this preparation of iron must necessarily be
salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vi eo
rously tonic, without being exciting andbver
heating ; and gently, regularly aperient, even
in the most obstinate cases of costiveness with
out ever being a gastric purgative, or inflicting
a disagreeable sensation.
It is this latter property, among others,
which makes it so remarkably effectual and
permanent a" remedy for Piles, upon which it
also appears to exert a distinct and specific
action, by dispersing the local tendency which
forms them.
In Dl.spepsia, innumerable as are its causes,
a single box of these Chalybeate Pills has often
sufficed for the most habitual cases, including
the attendent Costiveness.
In unchecked Diarrhea, even when ad
vanced to Dysentery, confirmed, emaciating,
and apparently malignant, the effects have
been equally decisive and astonishing. •
In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength,
debilitating cough, and remitten, hectic, which
generully.indicate Incipient Consumption, this
remedy has allayed the alarm of friends and
physicians, in several verpgratifying and in
teresting instances.
In Scrofulous Tubercillosis, this medicated
iron has had far more than the good effect of
the most cautiously balanced preparations of
iodine, without any of their well known lia
bilities.
The attention of females cannot be too con
fidently invited tp this remedy and restorative,
in the cases , peculiarly affecting them.
In Rheumatism, both chronic and flamma
tory—in, the latter, however, more decidedly—
it has been invariably well reported, both as
alleviating •,
pain and reducing the swellings
and stiffness of the joints and muscles.
,
In Intirvattent Feveri it must necessarily be
a-grat remedy. and energetic restorative, and
itsprogress in the new settlements of the. West,
will probably be one of high renown and use
fulness. •
No remedy has ever been discovered in the
whole history of medicine, Which exerts such
prompt,.happy, and fully restorative:effects
Good appetite, complete, digestion, rapid acqui
sition of strength; with an unusual disposition
for active and cheerful exercise, immediately
follow its use.
