The Institute convened is the Court Moues in Gettysburg, on Monday, December 26, 1870. The sessions were opened by vocal music. The sessions of each day were partly coca pied by Lectures on Elocution by Mrs. An na C. Randall of the Oswego Normal and Training &boo!, Oswego, N. Y. Mrs. Ran dall has compiled and edited a work, entitled: "Reading and Elocution." This work she had at the Institute, and used it in her daily instructions and readings. On Thursday evening Mrs. R. gave an entertainment which proved interesting:and profitable. .On Fri day evening she lead her celebrated Lecture entitled: "Our great-grand-mothers and their great-grand-daughters." Montgomery ; of Millersville, State Normal School, was present and lec tured on Penmanship.
