Gen Mackintosh's brigade of that division lost nearly 300 men, but only one officer was se, riously'injured - Acting Adjutant Lloyd, of the pd Wisconsin Cavary, and three other , officers were slightly wounded, bit have not yet left their commands. The movement' had evidently for its objeet the pojsession of Martinsburg , for at the same time the attack was mad at Summit Point another false 'movement was made a gainst our extreme left, then the attacking column slowly moved down towards our right and then suddenly a new body of troops ap peared in front ot our right, the 6th Corps, and a short but determined battle took place. The 6th Bth, and 19th Cotps formed in line of battle from right 'to - lefty I' have written them down.
