Important -Treaty.
We surrender much of Our. space to-day to
'he publication of the important treaty which
was concluded with the governreent of _New
;Grenada Some months ago. by our charge d'af
it:Airs-near that power and which has just been
ratified by the Senate. We Lire below the
mcwage l of the President actunpanying the
treaty, whiclr presents a clear and. convincing
statement of the enlightened pulley in which it
was framed and s'ubmited for ratification.
For more than twenty years, our commerce

recent administrations to remove , these diserim
tintions. Our present charge, 3lr. Bidlack,
has succeeded in carrying the Wishes of his :
government, in this respect, into effect. This
is a, measure in a high degree advantageous to
our trade vtith that country; and it is proper
lin this connexion to say, that, by the efforts of

the is - thn* of Panama. The conditions upon
which this most important advantage is seen

&iced On President to secure it; as offered-.--
although the treaty was negotiated on this'
point by iil.lr. Bidlack irrthe abseenee of specific
inStrnctions— are distinctly set forth in the
meSSage:
!The-conclusion and ratification of this treaty
are, indeed, matters of high and just congrat
ulation. While in the history of our foreign . '
