For the benefit of our readers wl.o may not have access to the pamphlet laws we will publish from time to time brief abstracts of those espeo ially affecting the general public Tbe new game and fish laws are too long to print in full bot we Will epit omise then so tbey may be under stood. A digest' baa been published and perhaps Mr. Marvin may have a supply. No harm la asking him. Home interested observers are sag gostirg that It might be an excellent plan to have a abort sermon, or otb er religions aervioe, prelude Sunday . games. There is an Increasingly large olass of people who spend tbe 8abbath, either as observers, or par ticipants. of base ball, tennis or other sports and the idea la that if these people cannot be Induced to attend ehnroh tbey should have the benefit of religions Instruction where they may be found at the grouuds. Whether this plan will be generally favored Is doubtful, bnt the provel ent disposition of many lo wbilr away tbe Sabbath in playing game is certain sooner or later to attraoi publio attention to the matter of Sou day desecration. A person may have bis own Ideas ss to the propriety of spending the day of rest in snob amusements bot he cannot overlook the example he sets in doing it in a most publio manner. The younger generation to prone to oopy the exam pie aet by their elders and seeing tnem tuns engaged, it is bard to place them under restraint. For those who labor all tbe week, bread' winning for their families, there may be some exoase that they need the day for open air recreation, bat what sxouse do those who bave leis ure all the week for sport offer elthei to their consoienoes or to their more sedately Inclined neighbors, to say nothing of the old fashioned rellg loo aspect of the matter.
