I am of the same opinion regarding atten dant expenses nnd if they keep on piling up they will be pretty costly roads. There Is not a newspaper In Sussex county that will speak out and lavor the 3 commissioners to conduct county aflairs In place of the present board of freeholders. If we had throe commissioner in place of the cum brous freeholder board it Is pretty certain that our good roads would be In one piece instead of mile and mile pieces scattered over the county. But the three commissioner system will come after awhile. Dysentary Is epidemic at Bevans and a number of little folks are down with it. The collector of this county at a recent meeting of freeholders said that the tlO.OOO set aside for bridge building would not be enough. If other townships are building as many bridges as Ramlyston belter double that appropriation if they wish to come out square. Our county ex perinea are getting to be enormous and the people are beginning to think that the three commissioners in place of freeholders would reduce expendi tures. I would like to see it tried. Agamomermis culicis is the name of the mosquito parasite discovered by Dr. Styles of the Marine Hospital service. Agamomeimis is to be turned loose into the New Jersey mosquito pastures. He bites the mosquitos on the leg causing them to frantically scratch themselves result ing in blood poisoning and rapid dissolution. Perhaps dissolution of the mosquito will be even more effective than the petroleum solution heretofore used. Dysentary Cured Without the Aid of a Doctor "I am just np from a hard spell of the flux" (dysentery) says Mr. T. A. Pinner, a well known merchant of Drnmmond, Tenn., "I used one small bottle of Chamberlain's Colio, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy and was oured without having a doctor. I consider it the best cholera medi cine in the world." There is no need of employing a doctor when this remedy is nsed, for no doctor can prescribe a better medicine for bowel complaint in any form either for children or adults. It never fails and is pleasant to take. For sale by Batch & Son, Matamoras, all general stores in Pike county During the first six months of this year, 680 of the emigrants who landed in New York became public charges. Commissioner Sargent's analysis of immigration statistics for the fiscal year just ended shows that comparatively few of our immigrants go west. He says that thirty per ceut of the total number, or over 250,000, remained in New York state and that only a few over 100,000 went west. The commissioner says, "Immigration under present con ditions hundred of thousands of ignorant aliens coming to our coun try every year presents a serious problem." It does one of the most serious internal problems we have before us, especially in view of the main tact that the great bulk of these uneducated and undmirable additions is the result of the activity of trans portation companies whose agenU are scouring every European country for steerage pa?eiigers and making It possible for them to enter the United States, evading the spirit although not the letter of the law.
