Mrs. John Wonnacott and daugh
ter, Eva, of Fishkill on the Hudson
arrived in town on Friday. They
are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Horace
Davey, Mrs. Wonnacott's parents.
At Epworth church during the
month of August tho Rev. Ora J.
Shoop, the pastor, will give a series
of Sunday evening sermons on
Pilgrim's Progress.". Mr. Bhoop
intends to make these sermons very
interesting and as profitable as pos
sible. Some pocu'iar typos of char
acter will be dovoloped. Everyone
is welcome.

and child are doing well. Mr. Eis

survoyed from Tuttle's Corner to
Culver's Usp is meeting with some
opposition from residents alon the
route. A day or two ago Mr. Stef
fen drove the engineer from his
premises and forbade him to survey
any further but all the same that
road is going through. 8uoh action
may dolay but will not stop it. The
people of this valley are heartily in
favor of the now road as the grade
will be very light. I believe the
charter for the old turnpike called
for a road tour rods wide and in oase
the new road is a failure, why not
call on those residents to sot back
their fences.
Hainesville will hold a social at
the churoh on August 14.
The Delaware valley Sun 'ay
school union will hold their annual
picnic in the grove of Victor E
Bevan near Bevans on Thursday,
Aug. 28th.
The churoh people of Layton will
hold an old-fashioned potpie festival
on the afternoon and evening of
Thursday, Aug. 21. A really good
potpie is a rarity In these days and

gue. Salmon W. Boll of Walpack has
been a patient sufferer from blood

are now had that his entire hand

The damage to bay and grain
from the recent rains has boon very
great. Much hay has spoiled and
rye has grown so badly as to be
hardly worth being oared for, and if
the wet weather continues it Is foar
ed that potatoes will rot.
