A ruling by the postmaster gener
al provides thnt nil boxes for the re-
;eption of mail mutter on the rural
lelivery routes must conform to a
certain pattern, in which case it is a
oriminal offence to tamper with the
b ix or contents. I supposed any
tampering with mail boxes of any
description would send the offender
to limbo. I wonder whose pattern
tlie postmaster general recommends.

Prevention is better than cure,
and yet a remedy like Mexicm
Syrup for coughs, colds and con
sumption, if not used to prevent
consumption by curing a cough or
cold in the beginning can be depend
ed on to even cure nfter the lungs
begin to waste away. No other
remedy is so nice to take, or sc
quick to cure, and many families
often buy a new bottle before the
old one is all used tip, so that they
