Arbor Day was duly observed ba ilie schools of this town, and In some cases trees were planted, anil in oth ers, recitations were given. The trouble altout tree planting lies in the fact that all of the school grounds nre so small that there is no room for them. It would be a good idea for the Hoard of relocation to enlarge the grounds, and then set it out with trees. As it Is now, Arbor Day does not create much enthusiasm in the pupils' minds, bo far as tree planting is concerned. Doth look as if Kssex county climate agreed with them. A majority, I might say all with perhaps one exception, of our schools will close from the middle on to the last of May. This will make a pret ty long vacation, and I think it would be a benefit to the pupils to lengthen the school year to at least 9J months; 10 months is a little to much of a good thing.
