ner. He has industry, capacity and
determination nil of which qualities
eminently fit him for the position,
and will make him a useful man for
his party nnd his constituents.

People here are complaining about
the lack of storms in this section,
but we had a eennine north easter
last Sunday when J. B. Wcslbrook
was up on the hill electioneering, at
least he thought he was taking the
place by storm. If he has no more
regard for Sabbath than ho has for
the promises ho made E. F. Pwters,
he lias very little, and such disre
gard will not make votes.

A largo barn on the farm owned
by Mrs. Shannon formerly known
as the Frieh place about ono mile
from town was burned Wednesday
evening. Tho building was erected
by the late Kenry S. Molt when hf
owned the place the work being done
by J. C. Chamberlain. The origin
of the fire is unknown. There was
an insurance of 1400.
