There is wide spread and general belief that Ery an cannot be elected, that the people will take care that he is not, and so men may become in different to their Individual duty to work and vote against his election. ' It isof highest importance that every Republican should become a missionary in the cause and use all his individual in fluence to secure votes for sound money. The Democrats are trying to obscure this issue, to relegate it to the background and to raise the cry of imperialism. It is with them the old story of the cuttle fish which obscures the water so as to hide it self, the real object of pursuit. They are working to make imperialism the issue to hide the 16 to 1 fallacy which has once been coudomned at the polls. They cannot define with clearness what they mean by this new bogy but it is something with which to juggle and deceive the people, and many are caught by an indefinable dread that the horrors Tividily depicted by Bryanites are the shadows of this new terror They do not see the substance be. cause there is none but they are tor. rifiodby a vivid picture of ills and evils which may arise in the train of iinpeiinlism. Democrats said the same things, in the same language, of Linooln from whose speeches Bryan now so freely, and approvingly, quotes and there is the same danger now as then and no more. It is the duty of Republicans to relax no effort, to not cease in their crusade against Democracy and all it represents to, be vigilant and active until the polls close in Nov ember and if they do this the wise, conservative and statesmanlike ad ministration of President McKinley will not only be overwhelmingly en dorsed but with all its' prosperity will be continued a blessing to the people of this great nation. Bee that you do your share to perpetuute it.
