(From a I'hess Rtpnn-ntntlve.)
On Vetlnosrtny and Thursday eve
nings of Inst week, the ladies of the
HoiM) Evangelical Church, held their
fourth minimi fiiirnnd supper in the
store room of John Eagan, on River
street. The proceeds amounted to
two hundred nnd twenty dollars.
Many had to turn away as there was
not room enough for nil to get in.
The supper was famous in all its ex
cellency. It shows what the ladies
of that place can do in the way to
suit the taste of the inner man. The
fancy work brought in the handsome
amount of f1.24 alone. The new
wonan dressed np in doll fashion
was bought by Miss Agnes Wilkes,
and the baby with long clothes was
taken by Martin Fisher.
The ladies are now discussing ns
t) whether they should have a
hall for the use of the church, and
renting to good parties for some
good purposes. A large building
with n large room to hold about 800
people should be built in that grow
ing village, nnd it will be nn attrac
tion to that place, and a credit to
the ladies.
