Pauly Friedman Walk benefits Family Service Association
Pauly Friedman was very
dedicated to Family Service
Association over many, many
years and a true champion to
a long list of various local
community causes, especial-
ly those aimed at assisting
women and children.
She was a past presi-
dent and life member of
the FSA Board of Directors
and founder of its Friends
Committee.
' In her memory, the Fifth
Annual Pauly Friedman
* 5K Run/Walk was held on
Aug. 11 at Misericordia
Univeristy.
All monies raised through
the event will benefit FSA’s
Help Line, a 24/7 infor
mation, referral, and after
hours crisis service that
serves Luzerne, Wyoming,
Sullivan, Bradford and Tioga
Counties.
Each person participating
in the event raised a mini-
mum of $25 in donations to
receive awards. Teams con-

banners of service men and women
who served or are presently serving
in the Armed Forces. Placement of
the banners on poles throughout the
borough was accomplished by the
staff of Frontier Communications.
This was the third and final year of
the project. As was done in previ-
ous years, excess funds collected for
the project were presented to the
Michael Cleary Foundation which
provides financial help to members
of the Armed Forces and their fam-
ily members. Shown above present-
ing the club’s check is project chair-

Aug. 10 at Dymond’s
Grove, Noxen. A cov-
ered-dish luncheon was
held, followed by a fam-
ily photo and business
meeting.
Officers elected for
2014 are Sharon S
Robinson, president;
John Sidorek Sr., vice
president; Michele
Keiper, secretary; Eunice
Sorber, treasurer.
Traveling the lon-
gest distance to attend
the reunion were Bruce
and Sherry Houston, of
South Jordan, Utah. A
total of 25 family mem-
bers attended.
The reunion is always
held the second Saturday
of August at Dymond’s
Grove.
