Tegan Ostroski has won many dancing and modeling trophies.
Ostroski 1s Tops in
modeling ages 8-9
Tegan Ostroski, of Shaver-
town, recently competed at the
Performing Arts Alliance Con-
test of Champions dance compe-
tition in King of Prussia where
she was named Grand Champion
Model ages 8-9.
Ostroski also won Tops in
Modeling ages 8-9, three Tops in
Duo Tap, Duo Ethnic and Duo
Specialty categories ages 8-9 and
Tops in Trio Tap ages 8-9.
She is also a member of the
dance groups “Sugar” and “En-
core” which earned a total of four
Tops in Tap, Specialty and Panto-
mime categories.
In addition, “Sugar” was
named Grand Champion Line
Tap in the 8-9 age division cate-
gory and was awarded a $1,000
check.
Tegan is the daughter of Rick
and Chris Ostroski. She is a
dance student under the direc-
tion of Robert and Kristine
Oberst, owners and directors of
the Back Mountain Dance Stu-
dio, Dallas.
Chamber plans Z1 birthday party
The Wyoming County Cham-
ber is hosting a 21st Birthday
Block Party from 6 to 10 p.m. on
May 3 at The Comfort Inn &
Suites.
The Chamber will be joined
by Chesapeake Energey Corpo-
ration, Mountain Energy Ser-
vices and Chief Oil & Gas, LLC
to present the event this year.
There will be fare from at
least eight area restaurants,
spirits from local beer distrib-
utors as as well as Nimble Hill
Winter and music by “Splash.”
Tickets are $35 (in advance)
and $45 at the door and can be
purchased by calling Deborah
at the Chamber office 875-
8325.

has books published
Dallas Post Sports Corre-
spondent Tom Robinson has
had a series of six books
released by The Child’s
World, a publishing company
from North Mankato, Minn.
A Clarks Summit resident,
Robinson is a freelance
sports writer and an editor of
medical and educational
books. He wrote all six titles
for the Math in Sports series,
which is targeted toward
readers in grades 2-5.
Specializing in books for
young readers, Robinson
recently completed the man-
uscript for his 34th book,
which has not yet by re-
leased.
Traver will
attend JINYLC
Shelby Traver, a fifth-grade
student at Lehman-Jackson
Elementary School, was
nominated and has been
accepted to attend the Sum-
mer 2013 Junior National
Leader Conference
(JrNYLC) .
She will be one of approxi-
mately 250 outstanding stu-
dents across the United
States who will take part in a
six day leadership confer-
ence in Washington, D.C.,
this spring and summer.
She is the daughter of

Two named
to dean's list
Colleen Leahigh and
Meghan Pietraccini, both of
Dallas, have been named to
the dean’s list for the fall
2012 semester at James Ma-
dison University.
Both seniors, Leahigh is
majoring in marketing and
Pietraccini is majoring in
kinesiology.
Students who receive
dean’s list honors must carry
a semester course load of at
least 12 graded credit hours
and earn a GPA of between
3.5 and 3.899.
Shevock interning
at building company
Laurie Shevock, of Shaver-
town, is interning this se-
mester at the building mate-
rials manufacturer CPG In-
ternational, Scranton.
A senior accounting major
with a minor in business
administration at King’s
College, Shevock is a mem-
ber of King’s Accounting
Association and volunteers
in the college’s campus activ-
ities office. She has served
both as an orientation assist-
ant and an orientation coor-
dinator for incoming first-
year students.
