Sem schedules student recital The Wyoming Seminary Music Department will present a Sunday Afternoon at Sem Student Recital at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 2 in the Great Hall of Wyoming Seminary, 228 Wyoming Ave., just north of Kingston Corners. The recital will feature indi- vidual student vocalists and instrumentalists performing works from the classical reper- toire. The recital is free and open to the public. For more in- formation, call 270-2192. ‘Ensemble Evening’ at Misericordia Misericordia University will host an ensemble evening for the community to showcase the talents of students in mu- sic, voice and dance entitled “Ensemble Evening” at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 in Lemmond Theater at Walsh Hall. The free program will feature an evening of music from Mi- sericordia’s choirs and bands, including the Misericordia jazz and wind ensembles. The Mi- sericordia Chamber Singers and Beyond Harmony, the university’s female a cappella group, as well as Pitch Please, the university’s male a cappella group, will also perform. Holiday Boutique at Evans Falls A Holiday Boutique craft and vendor show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Evans Falls Ele- mentary School. Cookies and treats will be served to children during a story time at 12:30 p.m. Sem Singers and Chorale plan concert The Wyoming Seminary Madrigal Singers and Chorale will present their annual Christmas Choral Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 in the Great Hall of Wyoming Semi- nary, 228 Wyoming Ave., just north of Kingston Corners. The Sem String Ensemble also will perform the Christ- mas Concerto Grosso by Corel- li and the concert will include a selection of favorite Christmas carols. LL offers kindergarten program The Lake-Lehman School District invites parents and children to the third install- ment of the Kindergarten Readiness Program for the 2012-2013 school year. The program is scheduled for Dec. 11, 12 and 13 and will feature “Math Readiness.” Faculty will discuss math strategies that will help par- ents prepare their child for kindergarten. Activities for the children may include a snack, story time and craft. The schedule is as follows: Ross Elementary - Tuesday, Dec. 11; Lake-Noxen Elemen- tary - Wednesday, Dec. 12 and Lehman-Jackson Elementary - Thursday, Dec. 13. All pro- grams start at 9 a.m. Parents are asked to register for the third installment by calling their elementary school office.
