READ!” The three levels of reading - read-to-me, readers and teens - were recognized and congrat- ulated by families in attend- ance. Also recognized were mem- s of Boy Scout Troop 281 er the leadership of Lee nn Burkhart, Erica Winter- steen and Mae Rome who vol- unteered throughout the sum- mer, helping children’s librar- ian Janet Bauman with all the special programs and crafts as- sociated with the summer reading program. Parent prizes were awarded by a drawing to these families: the Dudicks, the McGuires, the Janoskis and the Colatos- tis. The Relax & Read winner was Becky Anderson. Refreshments were provid- ed by Erin Yatsko of Travel Twist (ice cream bars and pop- sicles), Amy Pimm (sheet cakes), Roberta Brighthaupt (chips and pretzels), Pepsi (bottled water) and the Amer- ican Education Services (backpacks). Volunteers who served the children from the food booth included Noreen Gladey, staff; Anna Korey, retired staff; Heather Pitcavage and Karen Laskowski, Dallas teachers. The Harveys Lake Protection Association is seeking donations from residents to maintain three islands at the entrance to the lake.
