Sem plans Open
House for March 3
Wyoming Seminary Lower
School invites families to attend
the Preschool, Pre-K and Kin-
dergarten Open House from 9 to
11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31
at the school’s Forty Fort cam-
pus, 1560 Wyoming Avenue.
Families may tour preschool,
pre-kindergarten and kindergar-
ten classrooms and speak with
the dean of the Primary Divi-
sion, teachers and admission
staff about Sem’s early child-
hood program.

sok Relay for Life
The Colleges Against Cancer
Chapter at Misericordia Uni-
versity is holding a two-day
Relay For Life fundraising event
on campus by McHale and Gil-
dea Students Residence Halls by
the North Gate on campus to
benefit the American Cancer
Society from 7 p.m. on April 1 to
7 a.m. on April 2.
Interested participants can
form a team or participate indi-
vidually for a $15 registration
fee per person. Each participant
receives a Relay For Life T-shirt.

purchase a luminaria or an ad in
the program, call 617-2108.

committee meets
The planning committee of
the 40th anniversary class re-
union of West Side Central
Catholic High School Class of
1971 will meet at 4 p.m. on
Saturday, April 2 at the home of
Sally Hogan Rothstein.
The reunion is planned for
Sunday, Sept. 4 at Konefal’s
Grove, Chase Road, Shaver-
town.

House at LCCC
The Misericordia University
Center for Adult and Contin-
uing Education is holding an
Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. on
Thursday, April 7 in Room 435,
Building 4 of Luzerne County
Community College, 1333 S.
Prospect St., Nanticoke, for
adult learners and transfer stu-
dents interested in continuing
their education.
Traditional-aged students
interested in transferring to
Misericordia University from
another four-year college or
from an associate’s degree pro-
gram will have an opportunity
to talk to Misericordia admis-
sions counselors and financial
aid advisors.
‘Cinderella’ comes
to Lake-Lehman HS
Students at Lake-Lehman
High School will perform Rodg-
ers and Hammerstein's “Cinde-
rella” at 7 p.m. on Friday and
Saturday, April 8 and 9 and at 2
p.m. on Sunday, April 10 at the
Lake-Lehman High School.
General admission tickets are
priced at $6 and $8 and may be
obtained by calling the box

Misericordia University will
host noted psychologist, profes-
sor and author Carol Gilligan,
Ph.D. for a lecture, question-
and-answer session and book
signing in observance of Nation-
al Women’s History Month at
7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17 in
Lemmond Theater in Walsh.
Dr. Gilligan's lecture, “Look-
ing Back to Look Forward: Re-
visiting ‘In a Different Voice,”
and question-and-answer ses-
sion is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in
Lemmond Theater with a recep-
tion and book signing from 9 to
10 p.m. Both events are open
free to the public.

their parents to an open house
program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
on Saturday, April 16 at the
Back Mountain campus. Regis-
tration will begin at 9 a.m. in
the Anderson Sports Center.

The Lake-Lehman Band Spon-
sors Annual Spring Craft Show
will be held from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at
Lake-Lehman High School, 1128
Old Route 115, Lehman. Admis-
sion is free
Over 100 crafters wil offer
spring and home decor items,
including homemade candy,
jewelry, floral wreaths, wood
crafts, candles, soaps, lotions,
embroidered, quilted and cro-
cheted items, American Girl
doll clothes, folk art, paintings,
pet related items and more.
There will also be a Chinese
auction, bake sale and hot foods
served all day.
Proceeds benefit the Lake-
Lehman Marching Band. For

plans reunion
The Tunkhannock High
School Class of 1961 is planning
its 50th anniversary reunion to
be held Saturday, June 25 at the

Michael Gatusky won the Gate of Heaven School National
Geographic Bee on Wednesday, December 15 and has recent-
ly qualified to represent the school at the state level. He will
