Dallas finishes third in
JET) team competition
Dallas High School finished in
third place in the Junior Engi-
neering Technical Society
(JETS) Test of Engineering Apti-
tude, Mathematics and Sciences
(TEAMS) competition held
March 9 at Penn State/Wilkes-
Barre.
The competition is co-spon-
sored by the Pennsylvania Socie-
ty of Professional Engineers Lu-
zerne County Chapter. :
Students worked together in
teams of four to eight members in
the two-part competition, which
consisted of an 80-question mul-
tiple choice exam and a series of
eight tasks related to this year’s
theme: “Smarter Energy, Cleaner
Planet.”
According to www.jets.org,
this theme “show[s] students
firsthand how engineers in vari-
ous disciplines, including envi-
ronmental engineers, civil engi-
neers and mechanical engineers
tackle the energy crisis and the
global need for diversification, ef-
ficiency, security, and ecological
sustainability.”
Wyoming Area High School
finished in first place while sec-
ond-place honors went to Wallen-
paupack Area High School.
