Dallas High School seniors enjoy Prom Night
About 350 members of the Dallas High School senior class and their guests danced the night
away to the music of disc jockey Matt Alles during the Dallas High School Senior Prom held
May 8 at Genetti’s in Wilkes-Barre. The theme for the evening was “Las Vegas Night.” Dana
Krawetz was crowned Prom Queen while Zach Dutter was Prom King. Senior class advisors are
Barb Richardson and Tom Connors.
L:L percussion, color guard groups excel at tourney
Members of the Lake-Lehman
Indoor Percussion and Color
Guard groups dominated the
Chapter 7 Championships held
Sunday, April 25, at Pocono
Mountain East High School in
Swiftwater.
Lake-Lehman swept the floor
with all four units earning first-
place recognition along with tro-
phies.
The elementary percussion un-
der the direction of Patrick Stan-
ley presented its show “The Dark
Knight,” achieving a ranking of
“Excellent.”
The high school percussion di-
rected by AJ Defrancesco and as-
sisted by Eric Boylan and Bren-
dan Carter performed its show
“The Horror,” obtaining a score
of 88.5.
The middle school color guard,
a senior project co-directed by
Kaitlyn Martin and Symone
Vaughn, delivered its show
“Lucky,” producing a score of
78.6.
The high school color guard di-
rected by Brian Marsh assisted
by Jess Milbrodt and Michelle
Keller elegantly portrayed its
show entitled “Winter” and
earned a score of 81.3.
Three of the four units traveled
‘to New Jersey for the All-Chapter
Championships held April 29
through May 2 at the Wildwood
Convention Center located on
the boardwalk.
The high school percussion
preliminary round saw over 20
outstanding competitors. After
achieving a high enough score to
advance to the Scholastic Inter-
mediate A Division earlier in the
season, the Lake-Lehman unit
proved itself once again by qual-
ifying for finals to be held. The
ensemble completed its season
with a sixth-place recognition
ranking above some of its previ-
ously challenging opponents.
The color guard competed at
the highly-competitive Scho-
lastic Intermediate A level. Its
preliminary round produced
an amazing showing by the
group. Its exemplary perform-
ance advanced the group to fi-
nals where the ensemble pol-
ished off its season with a
sixth-place achievement.
The elementary percussion
performance was its best pre-
sentation of the season. The
fifth and sixth-grade students
impressed the audience as
well as the judges, earning a
“Superior” ranking as well as
Chapter Championship med-
als.
