Born on April 14, 1914 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she raised three children in Long Island, N.Y. before moving to Dallas in 1987. Surviving are her sons, Neil, of Freeport, N.Y.; C. HUSTED - Martha Hoyt, 86, of Idetown, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 at Hospice Communi- ty Care, Wilkes-Barre. JAMES - Thomas Jr., 89, of Sylvan Lake, Hunlock Creek, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospi- tal, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Hanover Township on December 20, 1919, he at- tended the Ross Township ele- mentary schools and gradu- ated in 1938 from Shickshinny High School. He also gradu- ated from NRI Electronics School NS, Berwick School of Welding and Williamsport Vo- cational School. He was employed for 14 years at Glen Alden Coal Com- pany where he was a wireman mechanic. He was a certified welder at Air Products and Na- tona Mills. During World War II, he worked at Mare Island Navy Base, Calif., as a welder. While there, he was an amateur boxer for five years. He also owned and operated his own radio and TV repair business. In 1980, he retired from Harte & Company, Mountain Top. He was a vice-president of the Sylvan Lake Property Own: ers Association and one of its original “founders, “past ‘presi: dent of the Plymouth P.T.A. and ran for Burgess of Ply- mouth while residing there for 20 years. He was a former Sun- day School superintendent of the Franklin Street PM Church and a member and officer of its Sunday School class, a member of the Plymouth Lodge No. 332, F.&A.M. for 56 years and a member of Caldwell Consisto- ry, Bloomsburg. LINCOLN - V. Richard, of Harding, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 in Hospice Care at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. Born in Wilkes-Barre on Au- gust 12, 1938, he graduated from Lake-Lehman High School. He was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church. A US. Army Veteran, he served his country honorably while stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, he attained the rank of Special- ist 4th Class. He worked most of his life in the stone quarry business, re- tiring as superintendent of State Aggregates, Clifford, Pa., in 2000. Surviving are his wife, Gla- dys Stanton Lincoln; seven children, Jillian, Jessica, Josh- ua, Richard, Tom, Tammy and Kim; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson. ROWE - Ernest P., 58, of Tunkhannock, died Friday, Sept, 18, 2009 in Tunkhannock. Born in Meshoppen, he was employed as a mechanic for Sherwood Chevrolet in Tunk- hannock for more than 30 years. He was a graduate of Tunk- hannock Area High School, Class of 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Triton Hose Company. Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia Tewksbury; a son, Ryan, of Tunkhannock; a brother, Elmer, of Tunkhan- nock; a sister, Marion Living- ston, of Freeport, Texas. Born in Tunkhannock on April 2, 1980, she was a gradu- ate of Tunkhannock High School, Class of 2001. She and her husband of four years, Sgt. Aaron Warner, USMC, just re- turned from serving three years in Japan. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her mother, Jan- ice Paylor Robinson, of Tunk- hannock; a son, Curtis “CJ”, and daughter, Harley, at home; brother, James “Skip” Robin- son, of Tunkhannock; aunts, uncles and cousins. WOOD - Bobbi Jo, 26, of Sweet Valley, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at home. Born in Kingston, Sept. 23, 1982, she graduated from West Side Area Vocational-Technical School, Pringle, in 2002 and re- ceived a diploma from Allied Medical and Technical Ca- reers, Forty Fort. She was employed as a phle- botomist for the American Red Cross and was also a certified nurse’s aide. Surviving are her daughters, Kailee Anna Steele and Ga- brielle Steinruck; sisters, Stacy Altenhain, of Tunkhannock; Russchelle Scott, of Loveland, Ohio; Danielle Tomlin, of Falls; grandmother, Louise Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
