Sullivan, Lehman; John Swee-
ney, Shavertown; and Natashja
Udzella, Bloomingdale.
Speakers for this year’s event
are Jim McGovern, superin-
tendent of the Lake-Lehman
School District; and State Rep.
Karen Boback, who has also
been a GFWC Harveys Lake
member for over 25 years.
According to GFWC Harveys
Lake honorary members, the
event started over 40 years ago
as a “Lake-Lehman Girl of the
Month” program. One Lake-
Lehman senior girl was honor-
ed each month the club met
and the girl’s family was also
invited to attend the program.
The program eventually
evolved into honoring the top
10 senior girls once per year.
Over 15 years ago, club mem-
bers decided to also include
boys in the program, which
eventually turned into a night
to honor the top 10 seniors of
Lake-Lehman Junior/Senior
High School and to recognize
community leaders from Har-
veys Lake.
Darlene Williams and Tina
Urban serve as event coor-
dinators for this year’s commu-
nity night. The public is invited
