In what was dubbed “an ugly game,” both teams shot poorly from the floor — both at well un- der 50 percent - and both defens- es created a number of turn- overs. Messinger scored 10 of his points in the first quarter, allow- ing Dallas to jump out to a 25-17 halftime lead. A three-point play by Mike Eckman, a three-pointer by Eoin Ellis and a layup by Eckman in Mountaineers Hunter Englehart dribbles past Lake-Lehman's Jared the final minutes of the third quarter, bumped the Black Knights to within four, 29-25, going into the game’s final quar- ter. But things changed drastical- ly in the fourth quarter when Dallas went on a 12-0 run and its defense held Lake-Lehman without a field goal in the first 4:04 of the final quarter. Hunter Englehart scored six of his 10 points in a span of 81 seconds and Messinger dumped in five points during the run as the Mountaineers grabbed their biggest lead of the game, 41-27, with just 4:31 remaining.
