Fun at Annual Market on the Pond
This year’s “Market on the
Pond,” held every year by the
Auxiliary of the Meadows Nurs-
ing Center, Dallas, featured 110
ventors on the center’s grounds
on Saturday, June 14.
A gift basket raffle, featuring
baskets donated by volunteers,
staff members and friends of the
center, kicked off the event. New
ideas that year included an Ea-
gles football, a gas gift card Cat’s
Meow and Doggie Heaven.
Vendors at the event offered a
variety of goods and treasures.
The Auxiliary booths included
odds and ends, plants, jewelry,
books, raffles, residents’ crafts,
refreshments and more. Entera-
tinment was provided by “The
Goodtimers.”
Members of the market comm-
tite include Bernie Hill, Fran Die-
rolf, Irene Transue, Pat Frod-
sham, Betty Glass, Leona Walter,
Louise Montigney, Peter Klein,
chairman; Robert Law, Auxilairy
president; Helen Carey, Betty
Sorchik, volunteer coordinator;
and Nelson Ashburner.
“Would you believe he found me?" asks Chris Cyprich, who paid
$1.00 to take this fellow home for her grandson, Tyler.
Creatures like this one appeared as denizens during the annual
Meadows Nursing Center's Market on the Pond.

CHARLOTTE BARTIZEK/ FOR THE DALLAS POST
They look real, but actually these wooden basset hound statues are just that - statues that could
be purchased to place in a yard.
Jennifer Transue, of
Beaumont, and her
daughter, Savanna,
were visitors at the
Market on the Pond.
