Tunkhannock, died Wednesday,
May 28, 2008 at Tyler Memorial
Hospital.
Born in Scranton on Septem-
ber 8, 1925, he attended North
Scranton High School and enlist-
ed in the United States Navy in
1942, serving on LSM 61 in the
Pacific and landing at ports-of-
call including Okinawa, Saipan
and Japan.
A mechanical designer and
toolmaker, he was instrumental
in establishing Dutch Stoker
Stoves, Gingher Manufacturing
and Gingher Engineering. He
was employed by General Elec-
tric and retired from RCA in
Dunmore in 1985.
He was a member of Nativity
BVM Church in Tunkhannock.
He volunteered in the initial set-
up and operations at the Wyom-
ing County Fair until his health
prevented him from doing so. He
was also a member of American
Legion Dennis Strong Post 457,
the Endless Mountains Amateur
Radio Club, the Emergency
Management Association of
Wyoming County and the Samp-
son World War II Navy Veterans
Organization. {
Surviving are his wife, Marge;
two sons, Carl III and Rich, both
of Tunkhannock; daughter, Pat-
ty, of Madison Township; three
grandchildren; a step-sister, Car-
olyn Gingher Naumann; nieces
and nephews.

MARTIN - Bernadine T., 85, of
Trucksville, died on Wednesday,
May 28, 2008 at home.
Born in Wanamie on May 20,
1923, she was a graduate of New-
port Township High School,
class of 1941, and the Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital School
of Nursing, class of 1945.
She worked with the Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital, serving
as a nursing supervisor for more
than 40 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of St There-
se’s Church, Shavertown, for 55
years and the Wilkes-Barre Gen-
eral Hospital School of Nursing

Susquehanna Indians, 18-2.
DJ Berly, TJ Stepanski and

hits. Steve Olshemski had four

in a losing cause.
