Four other Valley Conference player were named to the first team. | Overall, 32 players were named to the All-American teams, 16 on the first team and 16 on the second team. The All-American teams are selected through a two-step process. To be nominated, a player’s coach had to belong to the NFHCA. The nomi- nations were given to one of six regional selection committees. Players from Pennsylvania were in the Mideast Region. Six regional teams were named on Tuesday, with a total of 89 players named to the elite squads. The five WVC standouts were among 16 play- as named to the Mideast Regional Team. All-regional team selections become digible to be picked All-American. A ommittee of the six regional chair- fersons, plus a national chairperson, ficked 16 players to the first team and £ more to the second team. By CHRIS BELL Post Correspondent The 100th career victory for is usual- ly a memorable one for high school wrestlers, but Lake-Lehman senior Jeremy Schutz really hit the century mark in style. Schutz, who owns a career record of 104-18, earned his 100th career win with a 25 second pin over Lampeter- Strasburg’s Adam Reichanbach at the Upper Dauphin Duals, December 5. Schutz scored a quick takedown and ¢ happened pretty fast,” said Schutz. “I don’t remember how I got the take- down, but I know I used a cradle for the pin.” : Schutz, who competes at 140 pounds for the Black Knights, was glad to get the milestone behind him. “Getting 100 wins was a goal of mine for my high school career,” he explained. “It was pretty exciting and I was nervous leading up to the match.” With one goal down, Schutz can con- centrate on the rest of his senior sea- son and achieving the more important aim of qualifying for the PIAA state championships in Hershey. Killer Bees seek award nominees By STEVE SEMBRAT For The Post WILKES-BARRE — The Killer Bees Athletic Club is seeking nomina- tions for its major awards that honor area amateur athletes. The Joe Hoinski Memorial Awards for Excellence in Athletics and the Student-Athlete Awards will be hand- ed out at the club’s annual awards ban- quet, set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at Genetti Hotel & Convention Center in Wilkes-Barre. The public is encour- aged to submit nominations for those honors. The Hoinski Awards are named in honor of a club member who was killed in a motorcycle accident, and are given in four divisions: open male, open female, scholastic male and scholastic female. | The Student-Athlete Awards are open to seniors of oming Valley Conference schools who carry an A academic average and who win a letter in a varsity sport. There are male and female divisions for the awards, which are sponsored by the Times Leader. Nominations may be submitted in one of two ways. Crestwood 61, Lake-Lehman 27 Dec. 14 — After a sluggish first quarter, Crestwood turned up the defensive intensity and dominated the offensive and defensive boards during the final three quarters en route to a 61-27 win against the host Black Knights. Caleb Piatt scored seven points in the first quarter as Lake-Lehman grabbed an early lead. A three-point play by Piatt gave the Black Knights TE an 11-10 lead after the end of one quarter. Chris Boyle also scored seven points for the Knights. Dallas 63, Coughlin 50 Dec. 13 — Sophomore guard Ryan Nemetz scored a game-high 24 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Mountaineers. Coughlin led 46-42 after three quar- ters, but Dallas outscored the Crusaders 214 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Robbie Myers added 16 points for Dallas and Brad Fagula scored seven.
