Quilt auction is feature of festival A beautiful handmade quilt will be auctioned off during a silent auction held at St.Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church’s first annual Summer Festival on Satur- day, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will be held rain or shine on the church grounds in Dallas Township, off Route 118, and is free and open to the public. The quilt was hand-pieced and hand-quilted by St. Paul’s member Emma Law- son of Sweet Valley. Measuring 76 inches by 92 inches, the quilt features a sam- pler pattern in cream, sage green and pink and outline quilting. Lawson, who has been quilting for 50 years, is a member of the St. Paul’s quilting group. Other festival attractions include a flea market and Chinese auction, a bake sale, an art display, a variety of booths, food, entertainment and activities for children. Since 1962 the group has traveled million of miles, pro- duced more than fifty albums, and hosted many interna- tional tours. The group is comprised of two brothers, Bob and Mike Jacobs, who are original members of the group that started in the small town of East Berlin, PA, in 1962. The third member, Mike Lawver, who joined the group in 1972 comes from McClure, PA. The word “versatility” best describes the Jacobs Brothers program.
