Huntsville Days this weekend The Huntsville Christian Church will celebrate “Huntsville Days” August 8-10 at the church, located one block west of the Huntsville Dam in Dallas. The event commemorates the history of the community of Huntsville. The activities will begin Friday with a fellowship dinner to be shared with the Huntsville Methodist Church at 6 p.m. Following dinner, there will be a G.0.D. (Gifts on Display) program which will highlight the talents of various members of both churches. On Saturday, activities will begin at noon with historical wagon rides around the Huntsville area. There will be an ice cream social with ice cream and homemade pie for sale on the grounds of the Huntsville Methodist Church. Other activities include a childrens’ auction, old fashioned games, silent auction featuring donated baskets of items from area businesses, and a country auction which will feature several homemade craft items. Also on tap is an apple pie baking contest with guest judges Charlie Hayes (camera man from WBRE- Tv) and Chef John Hu- dak from the Huntsville Golf Club. Twice Blessed, the praise band from the Huntsville Christian Church, will perform as well as Rufus, a Christian Rock band. On Sunday, a joint worship service will be held at the Huntsville Christian Church at 10 a.m. followed by a fellowship hour. First Summer Festival for St. Paul’s The public is invited to attend St.Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church's first annual Summer Festival on Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will be held rain or shine on the church grounds in Dal- las Township, off Route 118. Festival attractions include a flea market and Chinese auction, a bake sale, an art display, a variety of booths, food, entertainment and activi- ties for children. Teddy bear lovers are invited to bring their favorite bears and take part in a “Teddy Bear Parade,” which will begin at the children’s activity booth at 11 a.m. Another highlight of the festival is s special hand-made quilt which will be auctioned off at a silent auction.
