Vendors who wish to obtain Curves helps with food drive During the month of March, the 500 plus members of the Shaver- town Curves for Women Fitness Center-collected more than 1,000 ounds of food for the Back Mountain Food Pantry. This is the rth year the facility has sponsored a food drive in the Back ountain to feed the hungry. Bo nen ou men some mom oun mon mn Junior Girl Scouts earn Bronze Award Members of Junior Girl Scout Troop 2654, of Shavertown, recently completed work on their Bronze Award by presenting a four-hour program. at Shavertown United Methodist Church for over 70 Brownie Girl Scouts from the Back Mountain. The Bronze Award, the highest a Junior Scout can earn, requires 15 hours of leadership work by each scout. The girls developed a program that allowed the Brownie Scouts to earn the Dancercise and the Sounds of Music Try-its. The Juniors were responsible for planning, invitations, loca- tion arrangements and program presentation. In addition, Katie Confer and Sarah Szczucki, members of Junior Troop 2649, earned the Leadership Award for their help with the program. Margie Banks and Karen Pietraccini are leaders for Troop 2654.
