themselves at risk for an acci-
dent. Jolley said the passing
lane is heavily used there be-
cause it comes off of a five to six
mile stretch where there is no
passing lane.
Kozick said there was a com-
plaint that residents on Lake
Way Drive have been refused
trash pickup because of the
dangerous turning conditions.
Kozick said the resident of
Lake Way Drive was told the
township would have to initiate
the process before PennDOT
could take any action.
Jolley said the area does not
have a high frequency of acci-
dents, but, he said, PennDOT
looks at a variety of other factors
when considering such a re-
quest.
Also during the meeting, Ja-
son Jolley, a sophomore at Dal-
las High School and member of
Boy Scout Troop 281, requested
permission from the board to
create a walking path at the Dal-
las Township Recreation Park.
Jolley said creating the path is
part of his effort to obtain the
rank of Eagle Scout. The board
approved the idea.
In other business
e Kozick reported that in
2002, 26 homes were built in
the township, at construction
costs of $3,900,000.
e The board voted to advertise
a bid for a new heating and air
conditioning system for the
township building.
* Christmas tree pickup for
township residents will continue
until January 24.
