When I heard about this, I couldn’t help but donate, because it was something so similar.” Maverick’s surgery is expected to cost $3,000 and will be per- formed by a specialist in North Carolina. Maverick came to the Back Mountain and Ann Whitney, via a greyhound farm in Florida. It was determined the dog would never be able to race after his mother rolled over on him, breaking his legs at birth. Whitney said it is very rare for her organization to rescue grey- hound puppies, and she would only be apt the give a puppy to a Send The Dallas Post to a friend. It makes a great gift.
