The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Thursday, March 14, 2002 15 *SCI-Dallas honors long-term employees Faneck honored at SCI-Dallas for 30 years of service Superintendent Thomas Lavan and the Department of Corrections recognized Robert Faneck for 30 years of service to the citizens of Pennsylvania.Faneck, a graduate of Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business ‘Administration. He started his career in 1972 in the Inmate Accounting Department. After eight years as an inmate accountant, he was promoted to budget analyst. Faneck served in this capacity for one year and was promoted to business manager, a position he has held for the past 21 years. & & : 4 4 de 5 Wasylkewicz honored for 25 years of service at SCI-Dallas Superintendent Thomas Lavan and the Department of Corrections recently recognized Michael Wasylkewicz for 25 years of service to the citizens of Pennsylvania. Wasylkewicz was nominated in 1986 and 1989 for the prestigious ent of Corrections Outstanding Performance Award. In was recognized individually by former Commissioner of ions Joseph D. Lehman for his dedication and commitment to standards of excellence. Wasylkewicz was more recently recognized for his work on a cell door locking mechanism update and an installation of new window security bars to enhance the security of the institution. He is presently on the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania State Correc- tional Officers Association. Pascoe honored at SCI-Dallas for 30 years of service Superintendent Thomas Lavan and the Department of Corrections recognized Officer Phil Pascoe for 30 years of service to the citizens of Pennsylvania, recently. . Pascoe served twenty-eight years on E-Block housing unit. During that time, he supervised many inmates and addressed many situa- tions. For the past two years, he has provided security for the insti- tution’s Clinic area. During his tenure, Pascoe helped train many Department of Correc- tions officers. .. 2 Post honored at SCI-Dallas for 20 years of service Superintendent Thomas Lavan and the Department of Corrections recognized Lt. Brent Post for 20 years of service to the citizens of Pennsylvania, recently. Post began his career with the Department of Corrections in March 1982 as a corrections officer 1 at SCI-Dallas. In July of 1991 he transferred to the Department of Corrections Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and worked as an instructor and asso- ciate coordinator of the Correctional Emergency Response Team and the C.E.R.T. Rifle Specialist Team. In June of 1993 he was pro- moted to sergeant and transferred to SCI-Mahonoy. In December of 1997 he transferred back to SCI-Dallas and was promoted to lieu- tenant. Prior to his career in Corrections, Lt. Post served in the United States Army as a military policeman. Jack Pritchard retires, Gordon Agency takes over operations Jack A. Pritchard, Na- tionwide Insur- ance agent, of Carverton Road, Trucksville, re- tired effective January 1. Pritchard served as an Jack A. Pritchard agent for the Nationwide Insurance Compa- nies for over 26 years. During that time, he has been honored by Nationwide on numerous oc- casions for outstanding service to his clients, as well as to his community. He achieved Chal- lenger Club level, President's Club and was the Regional Ser- vice Agent in 1995. In 1975, Pritchard joined with his father, Vern, in the agency which had been established in 1961. Jack had previously been a mathematics - teacher at Wyoming Sem- inary in Kingston and a professor at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Pritchard and his wife, h Sandy, will Charles Gordon, spend their time between their winter home in Venice, Florida and their home in Wyoming. The Pritchard Insurance Agency will continue to operate at the Carverton Road location with the same staff. The agency will be under the auspices of Charles Gordon, Nationwide Agent in ‘Shaver- town. During his summer internship at the University of Pittsburgh, Carlson worked with Dr. Neal DeLuca and a group of profes- sionals to research the Herpes Simplex Virus. : Carlson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carlson, Shavertown, and a graduate of Dallas High School. : Thresholds seeking volunteers The" *Threshold” program at Chase Prison is seeking volun- teers for the program, beginning in April. Threshold is a decision-making program that is taught to in- mates at the correctional facility in Dallas who are about to be re- leased. The Threshold course is taught by volunteers, on a one- to-one basis over a period of nine weeks. There will be training ses- sion on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17.
