Parade of Trees winners
The Sixth Annual Grotto Pizza
Parade of Trees charity
fundraiser raised more than
$5,600 for local charities. The
event featured nearly two dozen
Holiday trees decorated by area
businesses. :
This year’s winners were:
Wyoming Valley Health care on
behalf of the United Way, Fal-
cone Beverage in support of the
Cancer Society; Petals Pre-
served supporting the Susan G.
Komen Breast Cancer Founda-
tion.

The Harveys Lake Protective
Association will hold their inau-
gural “Winter Warm-Up” Pizza
Party And Silent Auction at
Grotto Pizza from 7-11 p.m. on
Saturday, March 2. The event is
open to the public. The menu
consists of pizza, stromboli, hoa-
gies, dessert, soda, coffee and
tea. Alcoholic beverages will be
available at a cash bar. The cost
is $8 per person if paid by Feb.
20, or $9 after Feb. 20, or at the
door. Any business or individual

Scouting. Scouts

power for boats they
had crafted from
standardized kits.

“Cookie Shop” on February 9 at
Back Mountain Feed and Seed
in Dallas for the 2002 “Go
There” Girl Scout Cookie Sale
program.
The newest addition to the
Girl Scout Cookie family is the
“Friendship Circle”, a vanilla
sandwich cookie with a rich,
fudgy center. Based on the
motto, “friendship to conquer
hatred,” the new cookie honors
the Girl Scouts’ 90-year tradi-

Counties offers hot noon meals
Monday through Friday to peo-
ple 60 years of age or older. Do-
nations from participants are
gratefully accepted and needed
in order to expand this program.
All menus include margarine,
milk and coffee. The following is
the menu for the week of Febru-
ary 7-13. The local Senior Cen-
ter is located at 22 Rice St., Dal-
las.
THURSDAY: Sauteed liver &
onions, augratin potatoes, har-
vard beets, whole wheat bread,
banana.
FRIDAY: Tuna salad, lettuce,
tomato and mayonnaise, pita

chocolate cookie.
MONDAY: Swedish meatballs
over noodles, hot fruit compote,
