Jackson Township to hold
Christmas Tree drop-off
The Jackson Township
Board of Supervisors will be
conducting a live Christmas
tree drop-off disposal from 8
am. to 7 p.m. on Thursday,
Jan. 24; from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
on Friday, Jan. 25; from 8
a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday,
Jan. 26.
At the rear of the Jackson
Township Municipal Building,
2211 Huntsville Rd. Residents
will be limited to one live tree
per household. Proof of resi-
dency is required.
Any questions can be direct-
ed to John J. Wilkes, Jr. chair-
man at 675-6008, from 7 a.m.
to 3 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
e Christmas tree clean up
set for end of month
Dallas Township's Road Department will pick up township res-
idents’ Christmas trees until Friday, Jan. 25, weather permit-
ting. There are no set dates or times for individual street pickup.
Residents are asked to. have their trees placed by the road
curb. Residents also have the option of dropping their Christmas
trees off at the Dallas Township recycling site.

The monthly meeting of The
Noxen-Monroe Sportsman’s
Club will be held at 2 p.m. Sun-

Dallas Township residents are
asked to assist road crews in
providing safety for township
residents: Do not allow children
to play in the snow on the road
or right next to the road. Do not
throw snow from your property
o into the street. Place the snow
from your driveway to the right
(when facing the road) so that
snow is not redeposited in your
driveway when the road is
plowed. Allow additional time for
travel. Please do not park your
car on the side of the road.
Parking is prohibited between
the hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on
any streets including develop-
ment streets. Violators will be

Trucksville couple celebrate
62nd wedding anniversary
Lewis and Arline Williams celebrated their 62nd wedding an-
niversary on December 30. They were married in 1939 at the
Trucksville United Methodist Church by Rev. Savacool.
Mrs. Williams is the former Arline Parsons, daughter of the late
Ethel and Earl Parsons. Mr. Williams is the son of the late Ed-
ward and Clara Williams.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams have lived in the Back Mountain area
since the early 1940s. They are the parents of two children, Ar-
line Anthony, Plymouth and Lewis Williams, Charlottesville, VA.
They are the grandparents of Michael Evans, Susan Kile, Lori
Ann Umphred, Christopher Evans, Lewis Williams, Jr. and Paul
Williams. The couple also has 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Williams is retired from the automobile business and Fino's
Pharmacy in Dallas. Mrs. Williams is a homemaker.

Rossetti Memorial Art
contest to be held in March
All area students in grades 7-
12 are invited to enter the 21st
Annual Suzanne Maria Rossetti
Memorial Juried Art Contest. The
contest is open to any 7th
through 12th grade student who
resides in, or attends any public,
private or parochial school within
the school districts of Dallas,
Lehman, Tunkhannock or North-
west, -or any 7th-12th grade stu-
dents, who study art with any
private instructor teaching within
those areas.
Entries must be delivered to
Sue Hand's Imagery, 35 Main
Street, Dallas, between February
4 and 20. Ribbons will be award-
ed in twelve different categories
on each separate grade level by
two panels of three judges each.
They will be judged separately on
each grade level in a variety of
categories including pencil, pas-
tel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink,
scratchboard, mixed media,
fibers, photography, prints and
miniature drawings and paint-
ings. Photographs must be at
least 8” X 10”. No entry may ex-
ceed 40 inches in any direction,
frame and/or mat included. All
2-D entries must be mounted or
matted or framed with the excep-
tion of works on canvas board or
stretched canvas and must be
accompanied by an entry form,
available from area school art
teachers or from Sue Hand's Im-
agery. All 2-D artwork, other
than matted paper, must have a
hanger on the back. Each stu-
dent may submit a total of three
entries. In addition, a separate
awards jury will assign many
community-sponsored cash
awards and gift certificates.

Opening Reception of the 21st
Annual Suzanne Maria Rossetti
Memorial Juried Art show from
1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at
the MacDonald Art Gallery, Col-
lege Misericordia. An awards cer-
emony will follow at 4 p.m. The
exhibit of winning art works will
continue from March 12 through
March 28.

Jungle Book-The musical
NE Players, Wyoming Valley's
Non-Profit Youth Theatre Compa-
ny will hold auditions beginning
at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 for
the stage Musical “The Jungle
