Lehman Jr. Knights all-star cheer-
leaders qualify for nationals
The Lake-Lehman Jr. Knights All-Star cheerleading squad con-
sists of girls ranging from second thru sixth grade. They recently
won a regional competition hosted by the Universal Cheerleading
Association. The team qualified for the national competition in Or-
lando, Florida.
The team is currently involved in many fund raising activities, but
still need financial sponsors. Anyone interested in making a tax de-
ductible donation to our organization, please mail a check made out
to L.L. J.K., P.O. box 179 Lehman, Pa., 18627.
Misericordia hosting baseball clinic
The College Misericordia baseball team will host its sixth annual
Winter Baseball Clinic for boys 7-15 years old from 9 a.m. to noon
Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Anderson Sports-Health Center. The ses-
sion is geared toward individualized instruction and offers immedi-
ate video analysis.
Cost is $35 and includes a t-shirt. Family discounts are available.

Pirates fall to Lancaster
- The Pocono Pirates Pee Wee A Ice hockey team split a pair of
games this past weekend in Delaware hockey League play at the Ice
Box in Pittston.
On Saturday, Jan. 19 the Pee Wee Pirates out shot the undefeated
Lancaster Firebirds, but dropped a 4-1 decision. Ricky Rose of
Shavertown, had the game's lone assist. The Pirates received a
strong defensive effort from Eric Wroblewski, and Goaltender Drew
Slocum, both of Shavertown.
Pirates Squirt B Team plays well in defeat
The Pocono Pirates Squirt B Hockey team lost 4-3 to the Lehigh
Valley Comets at the Ice Box on Saturday, Jan. 19 in a key DVHL
match up. Graham Speace of Shavertown, had an assist.
Pirates Squirt B defeats Binghamton
The Pocono Pirates Squirt B team defeated the Binghamton Tor-
nadoes 6-3 on Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Ice Box in Pittston. The Pi-
rates were led by the scoring of Graham Speace of Shavertown.
Speace also had an assist.
Taxpayer assistance available in Kingston Twp.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and
Don Wilkinson Agency will have taxpayer assistance available at the
Kingston Township Municipal Building, 180 East Center Street,
Shavertown. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mar. 14.
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will assist taxpayers
with their State Income Tax forms. Don Wilkinson Agency will assist
taxpayers with their local Kingston Township form.

Tony Bevevino scored the game-winning basket with less than five ~
seconds remaining to lead Karcher Refrigeration past Luzerne Na-
DYB tional Bank 14-13. Jimmy Brown added six points,
3.4 BOYS while Adam Viecinski played well defensively. Travis
Debona led Luzerne National Bank with eight points,
while Tyler Patton added five. Dustin Siperko was the game's lead-
ing rebounder.
Mellon Bank 14, Rosenn, Jenkins Greenwald 13
Nicholas Lombard connected on a three-point play with 2.2 sec-
onds remaining in the game, leading Mellon Bank to win against
Rosenn, Jenkins and Greenwald. Lombard finished with a game- ')
high eight points to lead the winners, while Christopher Dillon ran ™
the offense and Brian Wise played well defensively. Devin Williams
was the game's leading rebounder. Marc Noyalis scored six points to
lead Rosenn. Mike Diaco added five points, while Christopher Clem-
son played well defensively.
Diagnostic Imaging 33, Dr. Jack Ellis 26
Hunter Englehart and Ryan McAndrew combined for 31 of their
team’s 33 points to lead The Center For Diagnostic Imaging. Griffin
Adams had several assists and hit a key basket late in the game,
while Morgan DeArmitt played well defensively for the winners. 0
Christopher Ellis scored 13 points to lead Dr. Jack Ellis. Taylor
Dunn added 10 points and Chris Rose chipped in three. Josh
Stephens and John McCarthy played well defensively.

Adam Goeringer and Andrew McCabe scored six points apiece to
lead Dr. Bruce Goeringer Family Dentistry. Peter Decker was the
game's leading rebounder, while Jesse Lambert played well defen-
sively. Corey Monk and Nicholas Lombard combined for nine points
to lead Mellon Bank. Teammates Brian Wise and Jim Boop added
two points apiece. %
Luzerne National Bank 21, Karchner Refrigeration 10
Austin Carr scored 12 points and Tyler Patton added five to lead
the winners. Dustin Siperko chipped in four points, while Ryan
Hogan led the team in assists. Stephen Haughout and Adam
Viercinski scored two points apiece to lead Karchner Refrigeration
Services. Teammate Elijah Price played well defensively.
Rosenn, Jenkins, Greenwald 18, McCarthy Tire 10
Marc Noyalis scored eight points and Mike Diaco added six to lead
the winners to their first victory of the season. Gary Verazin added
four points, while Devon McMahon played well defensively. Stephen
Zapoticky lead McCarthy Tire with four points, while Nicholas
Zabriski ran the offense. Jim Monk and Kyle Weaver were the lead- |
ing rebounders for McCarthy Tire.
2002 Harveys Lake Little League registration
Registration for the 2002 season at Harveys Lake Little League
will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Har-
veys Lake Municipal Building and Saturday, Jan. 26, and Saturday,
Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harveys Lake Recreation
Building. é
Children ages 5 to 16 that live in Harveys Lake Borough and Lake
Township are eligible to register to play baseball or softball.
The registration fee is $30 per child or $40 per household. Parent
or guardian must have photocopy of every player's birth certificate
at the time of registration (even those players who have enrolled in
the past) and insurance information.
