Jane King, 80, of Loyalville,
Lake Township, died Wednesday
December 19, 200lat Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital.
Born July 2, 1921, in Brock-
way, she was the daughter of the
late John and Mary Faux Cos-
tion. She resided in Loyalville
most of her life. She was em-
ployed by the former Nelson Fur-
niture Co., Kingston, for 30
years, retiring 15 years ago. She
was a member of the Emmanuel
Assembly of God Church, Har-
veys Lake, and its Women's Mis-
sions. She was preceded in death
by her first husband, Floyd Tay-
lor; sons, Joseph R. and John D.
Taylor; brothers, John and
George Costion; and sister, Ann
Costion.
Surviving are her husband,
Irving King; sons, James F. Tay-
lor, Whitehall; Jeffrey M. Taylor,
Harveys Lake; daughters, Jane
Andrews, Bear Creek; Joan
Belles, Noxen; brother, Louis
Costion, Flagstaff, Ariz.; sister,
Evelyn Smith, Valrico, Fla.; 12
grandchildren; 12 great-grand-
children; and eight stepgrand-

Thomas E. Hontz, 79, of
Lawrenceville, N.J., died Dec.
9, 2001 in Trenton Hospital,
Trenton, N.J.
Born Sept. 23, 1922, he was
the son of the late Thomas and
Bertha Hontz and was a former
resident of Shavertown.
He graduated from Kingston
Township High School in 1941
and Drexel University in 1949.
He was a certified CPA in
Pennsylvania and served in the
U.S. Navy in Panama during
World War II.
He was self-employed in
Pittsburgh and was an office
manager for the state of New
Jersey before retiring. He was a
member of the Lutheran
Church of Resurrection, Hamil-
ton Square, N.J.
Surviving are his companion,
Sandra Carter, with whom he
resided; sons, Robert and
Thomas, both of Wilkes-Barre;
daughter, Carol Jiminey, Cali-
fornia; sisters, Ruth Earl,
Lawrenceburg, Ky.; Betty
Youngblood, Centreville, Va.;
Doris Mae Hughey, Dallas; two
granddaughters; two great-
granddaughters; and several
nieces and nephews.
VIVIAN DYMOND
Teacher in Orange,
Franklin Township
Vivian Jean Dymond, 91,
of RR 3, Dallas, died
Wednesday December 19,
2001 at her home.
Born in West Pittston, she
was a daughter of the late
Fred and Zana Van Tuyle
Dymond. She was a graduate
of West Pittston High School
and Bloomsburg State
Teachers College.
She was a teacher in Or-
ange, Franklin Township, for
many years.
She was a member of Cen-
termoreland United
Methodist Church and the
Nesbitt Hospital Auxiliary.
She resided in Franklin
Township most of her life.
She was preceded in death
by her brothers, Fred, Jr.,
and Gerald.
Surviving are her sister,
Glenna Rozelle, Dallas;
brother, @ George, Dallas;
nieces and nephews.

Member of Dallas Sisters of Mercy
Sr. 'M. Virginia Schneider
R.S.M., a member of the Dallas
Regional Community of the Sis-
ters of Mercy of the Americas,
died Saturday December 15,
2001 at Mercy Center, Dallas.
Born June 30, 1906, in Pitts-
burgh, she was the former Helen
Eleanor Schneider and daughter
of the late Joseph and Mary
Burkhart Schneider.
She was a 1925 graduate of
Mt. Aloysius Academy, Cresson,
earned a bachelor's degree in
history from St. Francis College,
Loretto, and a master's degree in
art from the University of Notre
Dame. She entered the Sisters of
Mercy in Cresson in 1925 and
pronounced her vows in 1928.
She taught in the elementary
and secondary schools in the
dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown
and Pittsburgh for 50 years, 34
of which she taught at Bishop
McCort High School, Johnstown.
She was a receptionist and
served in the Prayer Ministry at
Mercy Hospital, Johnstown, for
12 years and moved to the
Prayer Ministry at Mercy Center,
Dallas,
in 1988. She was preceded in
death by sisters, Mary Warren,
Frances Kearney, Ruth Youkers,
Mildred and Jean Schneider;
brothers, Lee, Joseph and
James Schneider.
Surviving are her sisters,
Dorothy Schneider and Betty
Nixon, both of Pittsburgh; nieces

RONALD BISHOP
Owner and operator of
Bishop Glass, Tunkhannock
Ronald “Ron” A. Bishop, of
Lake Carey, Tunkhannock, died
Wednesday Dec. 12, 2001 at
home.
Born June 19, 1930 in Jack-
son, Mich., he was the son of the
late Marvel and Rena (Mont-
gomery) Bishop. He was a grad-
uate of Jackson High School and
received an associate's degree
from Jackson Community Col-
lege. He owned and operated
Bishop Glass, Tunkhannock, be-
fore retiring in 1995.
He was superintendent of the
Wyoming County Maintenance
Office of the Pennsylvania De-
partment of Transportation from
1971 to 1979 and previously
worked for Reed & Kuhn Con-
struction Co., Elysburg, in area
construction of the Susquehan-
na River Bridge, Mehoopany.
He a member of the Eatonville
United Methodist Church and
chairman of its administrative
board. He was president of Lake
Carey Chapel and member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by
his sister, Betty Mae Felix.
Surviving are his wife of 48
years, the former Mary Swet-
land; son, Randy, Dallas; three
grandchildren, one great-grand-
child, and several nieces and
nephews. Memorial donations

June M. Maro, 74, of Fac-
toryville, died Saturday Dec.
15, 2001 at Mercy Hospital,
Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was
a daughter of the late Carl
and Peg (Simrell Malott.
She was a graduate of @
Scranton Central High
School and attended Mans-
field State College.
She was a licensed practi-
cal nurse for the West Side
Hospital, Community Med-
ical Center and the Inten-
sive Care Unit of Mercy Hos-
pital, all of Scranton. Prior
to her retirement, she was
also a nurse at the Family ®
Practice Department of the
Oakford Medical Group,
Clarks Summit.
She was a member of Elm
Park United Methodist
Church, Scranton, and a
member and past treasurer
of the Licensed Practical
Nurses Association. She was
preceded in death by sister,
Lois Rosencrance.
Surviving are her husband
of 52 years, Angelo J.;
daughters, Judith Wech,
Nicholson; Linda Hoover,
Dallas; and Debra DiCindio,
Hacketstown, N.J.; six
grandchildren, one great-
grandson; sister, Dorothea
Wright, Pearland, Texas;
and several nieces and
nephews. %
