NEPA Genealogy to meet
The June meeting of the Northeast PA Genealogical will conduct a
workshop to assist new genealogy searchers, as well as those who
have more experience. The group would like some help or any inter-
esting information or assistance. All are welcome to participate at 7
p.m. June 26th in the second floor meeting room of the Veteran's
Administration Medical Center.

top students

academic and extra-curricular
achievement. :
Neil ‘Buddy’ Shah was selected
to the third team, placing him as
one of the nation's top 60 stu-
dents. Buddy has earned nu-
merous local and national acade-
mic, leadership, and athletic
awards throughout his high
school career.
He was named a Senate Youth
Scholarship Winner as one of two
students from Pennsylvania in
week-long program in Washing-
ton, D.C. where he (along with
two student representatives from
each of the 50 states) met with
many leading senators, as well
as President Bush.
Other recent accomplishments
include being named a National
Merit Scholarship winner, Times
Leader Best and Brightest Math-
ematics winner, as well as win-
ning the Killer Bee Student Ath-
lete of the Year, Government
Leadership Prize, and the Stu-
dent for Peace Award presented
by the Peace Center.
He served as President of
Wyoming Seminary Government,
president of the International
Club, head delegate of the Model
UN, co-editor of the school news-
paper, and captain and number
one player for the State champi-
on tennis team.
Buddy will be studying political
science and biochemistry at Har-
vard in the fall. He is son of Dr.
Naresh and Mrudula Shah,
Shavertown.

DAREing to graduate
Graduation ceremonies were held recently for the DARE (Drug
Abuse Resistance Education) fifth grade class at Gate of Heaven
School in Dallas. Frank Ziegler, Kingston Twp. DARE officer and
Police Chief James Balavage spoke to the students, and Ziegler
handed out certificates signifying their achievement.
