Neil Shah named one of USA’s top students In the May 17 issue of USA To- day, the All-USA High School ~ Academic Team was announced. The USA To- : day's 15th 'an- nual rating for the All-USA High School Academic Team is open to. all graduating high school students in the United States based on extraordinary academic and extra-curricular achievement. : Neil ‘Buddy’ Shah was selected to the third team, placing him as one of the nation's top 60 stu- dents. Buddy has earned nu- merous local and national acade- mic, leadership, and athletic awards throughout his high school career. He was named a Senate Youth Scholarship Winner as one of two students from Pennsylvania in week-long program in Washing- ton, D.C. where he (along with two student representatives from each of the 50 states) met with many leading senators, as well as President Bush. Other recent accomplishments include being named a National Merit Scholarship winner, Times Leader Best and Brightest Math- ematics winner, as well as win- ning the Killer Bee Student Ath- lete of the Year, Government Leadership Prize, and the Stu- dent for Peace Award presented by the Peace Center. He served as President of Wyoming Seminary Government, president of the International Club, head delegate of the Model UN, co-editor of the school news- paper, and captain and number one player for the State champi- on tennis team. Buddy will be studying political science and biochemistry at Har- vard in the fall. He is son of Dr. Naresh and Mrudula Shah, Shavertown.
