Genevieve Albosta served as hostess at the July table. Decora- tions were in keeping with the July 4 holiday. Centerpiece was a rocket featuring tiny American flags. The honorees were Chet Molley, Florence Dennis and Grace Laux, who is a guest at the Kingston Manor, Third Ave., Kingston. August bakers are Florence Dennis, Kay Hudak and Ann Balavage. Co-hostessing the birthday table are Helen Misson and Florence Stella. August hon- orees are Ethel Baltrushes, Clare Paltrinieri, Marie and Ray Yuknavage. On Sept. 24, Project Head will sponsor a day of retreat. Space is limited, so reserve early by calling Carol Strupcheskiat 655-0107 or Mary Ann Daley at 822-7118. The cost is $20 and includes trans- portation, retreat, lunch, tips and gratuities. The bus leaves Sears at Wyoming Valley Mall, at 8 a.m. returning at 4:30 p.m. The club is still collecting Sure- Fine labels and old glasses. First and third Thursdays of each month, members and friends are welcome to assist Lillian Soveroski in making sleeping bags for the homeless, 11 a.m. to meeting time at 1 p.m. Meetings are held in the Father Sammons Hall of St. Therese’s Church, Pioneer Ave., Shavertown. BMT seniors win story contest At the Project Head Advisory Board Luncheon meeting held recently at the Genetti Conven- tion Center, Wilkles-Barre, awards were given to those members en- tering their “Nostalgia stories." Among the 15 winners, there were five members of the Back Moun- tain Senior Citizens with club president, Lillian Soveroski, be- ing in first place. Other winners _were Katherine Hudak, vice presi- dent; Kaye Ray, publicity; Frances Sirochman, and Irene Katyl. Kaye Ray submitted a piece on her father’s effort to feed victims of the great depression, and the in- teresting people who would arrive at their door each day. A de- ceased sister was the subject of Frances Sirochman’s story, and Irene Katyl rendered an account of her father. Contestants received a ribbon and a gift.
