She was preceded in death by sisters, Leona Thomas and Edith Schoonover. She and her husband, Robert W., were married 69 years. Kennedy, 84, of Laselle Avenue, Shavertown, King- ston Township died Mar. 2, 1997, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hos- pital. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Alexander and Jessie Aitken Kerinedy. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Huegenot Cross. He interned in pediatrics at Bellevue Hospital, NYC. He be- gan a resident in eye, ear, nose and throat and neurosurgery at Newark Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 1985, he opened an internal medicine practice in Shavertown. During that time he was an active staff member of Nanticoke State General Hospital and Nesbitt Me- morial Hospital, Kingston. He was also the former medical director of St. Stanislaus Medical Care Center in Sheatown, New- port Township and Medical Af- fairs, Medical Health Care, Nanticoke. He lived in Shavertown since 1981, previously residing in Har- veys Lake. He attended the Bennett Pres- byterian Church, Luzerne. He was a member of the Ameri- can Medical Association, the Lu- zerne County Medical Society, the Medical Club of Philadelphia, the American Guild Organist, Phi Lambda Upsilon Silmax, and the Order of the Scottish Clans.
