The event was held at the “Apple Tree Terrace” at Newberry Estates in Dallas. This year’s event featured 20 year service awards to five mem- bers. They are Brett Slocum, Francis Barry Jr., John Wega, Bill Shaffer and Chris Purchell. In addition, the organization made a special presentation to its five honorary members for their past and present contributions of time and talents to the organization. Lambert named Employee of Quarter At a recent presentation, Bindery Department employee, Holly Lambert, was recognized as Offset Paperback’s Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 1996. Holly began her career at Offset Paperback in 1984 in the Order Fulfillment Department and later transferred to the Bindery Department. Holly is described by her co-workers and supervisors as very conscientious, cooperative and dependable. In addition, Holly was recognized for her acute attention to quality and the number of various jobs she has learned in the department. Williams wins Weidner award The Offset Paperback’s Central Safety Committee recently announced Dale Williams as recipient of the Annual Don Weidner ‘Safety & Health Award. The Don Weidner Safety & Health Award is presented in honor and memory of Donald Weidner who served Offset Paperback as OPM’s Safety & Health Manager for many years and was an inspiration to all. The 1996 recipient, Dale Williams, was recognized for his dedication and concern for all OPM employees and his efforts enabling the OPM Safety Program achieve strong results in 1996. In honor of being recipient of the Annual Don Weidner Safety & Health Award, Williams received an inscribed decorative plaque. From left, Adam C. Civil War Round Table meets March 19 The monthly meeting of the Wyoming Valley Civil War Roundtable will be held at the Dallas Sr. High School on March 19 at 7 p.m. in the school library. George A. Turner will lecture on his book “Letters From Columbia County”, as well as speak on the “Fishing Creek Expedition” which involved draft resisters of the Bloomsburg area during the Civil War. In addition to the program, there will be a book exchange and 50/50 raffle drawing. Anyone who wishes to bring Civil War related books or material for ex- change is asked to do so. The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in America’s Civil War. There is no charge for mem- bers and a $2 donation for non- members.
