Lady Mounts top Lehman 47-41 By LEN KRYESKI Sports Writer A 17 point fourth quarter car- ried the Dallas girls to a 47-4 victory over arch rival Lake- Lehman Saturday afternoon. The Wyoming Valley Converence Divi- sion 2, matchup was made good from earlier in the week. Dallas built up a 21-15 lead at intermission, but the second half was a game of spurts. Each team’s defense and pressure had their moments, and both schools scored 26 points in the final 16 minutes. The Lady Mounts key surge be- gan at the 5:56 mark of the fourth quarter. By 5:03 Dallas had scored six unanswered points and in- creased their lead to 37-31. Robin Suda scored the first basket, but a missed free throw foiled a three point play. Follow- ing a Lehman turnover, sister Stacey put back a missed shot. After a steal by Robin, forward Adrienne Camp followed with an- other basket via an offensive re- bound. Lehman would pull within a basket two more times, but aftera Dallas timeout at 3:43 the Knights were outscored 8-4. Following the break in action, Kim Barbacci's crew ran their motion offense to perfection, spread the ball around and away from the stingy Lehman defense. Playing point guards Holly Baseski and Katie Austin simultaneously helped control the tempo of the game. Dallas appeared ready to put the game away midway through the third period. A basket by Camp at 4:11 provided the only double digit lead of the afternoon, 28-18. Lehman then tied up the score with four unanswered bas- kets including baack-to-back treys by guard Kelly Spencer. Back court mate Adrienne Miroslaw picked up three steals during the sequence. Barbacci and Dick Morgan ro- tated just seven girls during the closely contested battle. Sarah Barlow joined Camp, Baseskiand the Sudas in the Dallas starting lineup.
